Most people are really good at pushing through. Deadlines, workouts, life. But slowing down? Actually letting your body recover? That’s the part that’s easily skipped. 😵‍💫

Detox & Restore is a 4-week somatic wellness series designed to help you do exactly that.

Starting April 28, Tuesday evenings at 7:30 PM, Dr. Christie Kim will guide you through intentional movement, embodiment work, and simple self-detox techniques like lymphatic drainage and acupressure. The goal here is to regulate your nervous system, release built-up tension, and help you feel like yourself again… not just “getting by.” 🧘

Open to both ECAC members and non-members. Most insurance plans that cover acupuncture can be applied.

Spots are limited, snag yours by clicking here: https://tinyurl.com/3vkzktkb

If your body’s been asking you to slow down… this might be your sign.

BACK IN CLINIC - Dr. Mac Forde from supporting the Canadian Skeleton team in Whistler supporting 20 athletes!

Mac handled everything from injury management and first aid to filming, gym support, recovery strategies, rehab exercises, and even sled do***ng and driving.

Being the team’s chiropractor on the road means being ready for anything. Helping athletes stay healthy, recover faster, and perform at their best no matter where the competition takes them.

Traveling with a team like this shows how much behind-the-scenes support goes into elite performance, and how critical having a dedicated chiro like Mac on tour really is.

We’re hiring… 👀

Vital Performance Care is looking for a coach who’s serious about helping high achievers move better, get stronger, and actually perform. Not just go through the motions.

You’ll be working alongside a full interdisciplinary team (physio, chiro, massage + more), with access to high-level testing and tools, including VO₂ max, lactate testing, force plates, and more.

What matters most:
• You hold a CSEP-CPT, CSEP-CEP, CSEP-HPS, or are a Registered Kinesiologist
• You have experience coaching 1-on-1 and/or small groups
• You care about evidence-based training and collaborative care
• Bonus if you’ve worked with athletes or have a niche you want to grow (we can help!)

Start date: May 4, 2026

If you’re looking for a place to build your career rather than just go through the motions, we’d love to hear from you. Apply here: https://vital.applytojobs.ca/manual%20therapist%20or%20personal%20trainer/39891

While both acupuncture and dry needling use fine needles, the way they work and what they help couldn’t be more different.

Understanding the difference can help you pick the right approach for your goals. Whether that’s reducing stress, improving mobility, or managing chronic pain.

Your body deserves treatment that’s targeted, effective, and backed by science. Knowing which method fits your needs is the first step toward better movement, recovery, and wellness.

And if you don’t know where to start, message us. We’ll guide you!

Most people assume a tendon diagnostic imaging tells the whole story. But the “changes” you see on imaging are sometimes not the source of pain.

Here’s why:
1️⃣ Imaging alone can’t diagnose tendinopathy: you can have tendon changes and no pain at all.
2️⃣ Imaging alone can’t predict recovery: the scan doesn’t tell us if that tendon will get better or worse.
3️⃣ Imaging alone isn’t a useful outcome measure: serial scans rarely change in the short term, while symptoms usually improve faster.

Focus on what actually drives improvement: progressive loading, movement quality, gradually building tendon tolerance and client education. Those are the things that actually change pain and performance, not chasing the results of diagnostic imaging.

Most runners don’t plateau because they’re missing a secret method. They plateau because their inputs aren’t consistent enough yet.

Tools like zones, HRV, and 80/20 training are for refining stress and recovery when the volume and consistency are present… not for replacing the foundation.

Optimization only works when there’s something consistent to optimize.

03/23/2026

You don’t have to figure out strength training on your own. Most people wander into the gym, guess their lifts, and hope it’s working. That’s why progress stalls, even if you’re “consistent”.

Here’s how the $20 Strength Club actually solves that:

+ New strength workouts every month → periodized programs designed to systematically overload muscles, improve neuromuscular efficiency, and prevent plateaus

+ 3 structured sessions per week → a practical frequency that supports hypertrophy, strength gains, and recovery without overtraining

+ Programmed by experienced coaches → exercise selection and progression backed by kinesiology, strength & conditioning science, and real-world athlete data

+ Delivered via the TeamBuildr app → track your weights, reps, and progress over time, with in-app videos to ensure proper form and reduce injury risk

Why it works:

+ Periodization keeps muscles adapting and avoids stagnation.

+ Tracking loads and reps improves progressive overload and strength outcomes.

+ Proper exercise selection targets major movement patterns for balanced development.

+ Small, consistent workouts build long-term adherence and results.

Smart, science-backed progress, month after month. Join the club and train smarter, safer, and more effectively: https://vitalperformancecare.com/20sc/

A slight or extreme arch isn’t just a “powerlifter thing.” By retracting your shoulder blades, bracing your core, and creating a small lumbar curve, you can shorten the bar path, recruit your chest and lats more efficiently, and push heavier safely.

It may seem sketchy but it’s called biomechanics. When done correctly, it reduces shoulder stress and leverages your legs to stabilize the lift.

On the flip side, a flat-back bench puts you in a neutral spine position and is perfect if you’re managing low back pain, mobility restrictions, or recovering from injury. You’ll lift a bit differently but more controlled, with slightly longer range. While still being an effective, safe way to build strength.

If you’re interested in learning better powerlifting techniques (squat, bench, overhead press, deadlift).. Send us a DM as we have something cooking up…

The Conditioning Workshop Florida ✅
The Conditioning Workshop Ottawa ✅
And now… The Conditioning Workshop Calgary ✅

We brought it home to the Eau Claire Athletic Club and it delivered.

Conditioning is still the missing link in most coaches' and therapists' toolboxes - not because they don't care, but because it's rarely taught with clarity. That's what this workshop fixes.

Over two days, we covered:
+ Gait mechanics → injury risk, speed, power & capacity
+ Kinograms across all 3 planes + spotting KPIs and KRIs
+ Running, cycling & sprinting drills to refine technique
+ Needs Analysis, Gap Analysis & programming design
+ Load management + so much more

From runner-specific strength standards to cutting mechanics and conditioning design - this wasn't theory. These are tools you can use Monday morning.

Bonus: The workshop is accredited by CSEP (20 PDCs) and NSCA (1.6 CEUs). Practical knowledge AND continuing education credits. ✔️

Next workshop: November 14–15 → 3 spots already gone 👀

Register here https://vitalperformancecare.com/workshop/ before it fills up. 🔥
