CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT .
It is with great sadness we announce that after 2 decades of service Kensington Fitness is permanently closed.
Due to COVID-19 we were forced to close our doors and therefore have not been able to make any income to pay our bills. Our current lease is beyond our financial ability. Even with rent relief options we would be still required to pay operating costs + 25% of the rent. We are unable to take on 10’s of thousands of dollars of debit before we would be allowed to reopen the gym.
We would like to thank all our members for all the years of incredible friendships you gave us.
We had an amazing unique club and we are dearly going to miss spending our days with all of you.
We will keep our Gmail account open to continue to communicate with you all - [email protected]
From our family to yours, please be safe and stay strong.
We wish you all a happy & healthy future.

COVID-19 FITNESS ISOLATION TIP #8
It is no secret that a new baby can derail your old fitness routines. This is totally true when it comes to working out! Your baby can either be an excuse or a help.
Our advice? Use them as your weights and make it a fun family affair because you will not only be doing yourself a favor to your health, you can bond with your baby at the same exact time.
How’s that pledge going? 🍕🤣
COVID-19 FITNESS ISOLATION TIP #8
Push each other
Workout partners will keep you accountable & motivated, which is a total win 🙌 You’re also 50% less likely to quit exercising when your significant other is your workout partner.
Did you get outside today? We hope you did!

COVID ISOLATION FITNESS TIP #7
Focus on your core muscles.
Your core is your entire support system.
Your core muscles play a huge role in your everyday activities, from getting out of bed, to walking down the street, and bending over to grab your purse-but, most importantly, they literally help you stay upright.
Core strength is crucial in every movement you do.
You need to build enough core strength before you can build strength anywhere else...
So use this time at home to strengthen your core muscles so your ready to be strong when you get back to the gym.
Ahh we are missing all the fun antics our staff used to get up to in the gym 😃🤸🏽♂️🤪
COVID-19 ISOLATION FITNESS TIP #6

COVID-19 ISOLATION FITNESS TIP #5
Workout with your partner & make it fun. 🏃♀️🤸🏽♂️
Research has shown that 94% of couples stick to their fitness routines when they workout together.
By motivating each other to get up & go you not only breakup your regular routine, you’ll learn new skills & have new experiences together.
Be sure to reward each other for your accomplishments or to use them as motivation to reach your goals 😉
You’re welcome 😉😂
COVID-19 ISOLATION FITNESS TIP #4
Teach & Inspire 🙌
Use this new found time to set new healthy habits with your family. Inspire your children & teach them the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Setting these habits early helps them successfully transfer them into their adult lives later on. 💪
BEWARE OF COUCH POTATO SYNDROME 🥔
COVID-19 ISOLATION FITNESS TIP #3
Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.
Stretching once today won't magically give you perfect flexibility. You'll need to do it over time and remain committed to the process.
So take 10 minutes everyday to stretch a little to keep yourself mobile.
As of April 1st we’ve placed all membership payments on hold as it appears we will be mandated to be closed until at least May 31st, if not longer.
We appreciate everyone’s support in this difficult time.
Stay Active | Stay Healthy | Stay Strong 💪
COVID-19 ISOLATION FITNESS TIP #2
Isolation & Social Distancing doesn’t mean you need to stop all activity.
Get outside & enjoy the fresh air while going for a walk or run 🏃♀️
It’s important to keep active to keep healthy & it will help keep your energy levels up while releasing stress.
We’ve definitely seen this prank pulled at the gym more than once 🤣
COVID-19 ISOLATION FITNESS TIP #1
Avoid becoming a couch potato 🛋 🥔
Earn your TV time 📺 Exchange the couch for an exercise ball & do core exercises during the commercials.
Use this time to prepare yourself for the next great thing you’ll accomplish.
It’s important to remember this while being stuck at home isolating.
Get daily exercise to keep up your spirits 😀
Don’t let your boredom convince you that you’re hungry.
Give yourself a small project to complete first & then see if you’re truly hungry 😋
From our family to yours we hope you are all safe & staying healthy.
We miss our members already. Please stay connected, we love seeing your comments & getting your messages ♥️📥

We are sad to say that as of tomorrow our fitness facility will be closed as mandated by the Alberta government today.
Being a boutique fitness facility, we tried to stay open for our members, as they were still able to manage social distancing even while getting a workout in, in our facility. However, the decision is now out of our hands.
We do not know how long we will be mandated to be closed but rest assured as soon as the ban is lifted, we will re-open immediately.
As this is a fluid situation, we are trying not to make any long-term decisions until we have a better idea of how long this situation will last.
We are asking our members to stick with us and help us through this difficult time. If the closures last longer than 30 days, we will re-evaluate our options at that time.
We want to stay connected to you and still play a part in your fitness journey during this time. So, watch our social media channels as we will be posting workouts you can do at home and fitness tips.
Thank you for your understanding and compassion in this unprecedented worldwide event.
Please be aware that while we are remaining open at this time. We have now chosen to limit access to members only & will no longer be allowing drop-ins or the use of free day passes.
Yes, we will continue to sell memberships but we have made some adjustments. First, we will only sell to those who are not sick & have not traveled in the last 2 weeks. Second, at this time we will only sell month to month memberships at a special rate of $74. This special membership will only be valid during the pandemic. Afterward, these memberships will need to be converted to our regular membership options. (There are also no refunds if we are forced to close by the city)
Thank you for your understanding while we have to make daily adjustments to our protocols in this ever-changing landscape.
We love seeing the creativity to still get a workout done happening around in the world during this pandemic.

We have been receiving lots of messages and phone calls and would like to provide everyone with an update. We have heard you – you want us to remain open!
At this time Kensington Fitness will remain open to the public but we will be instituting the following measures:
• As of Wednesday, March 18, we will be reducing gym hours to 9am to 8pm on weekdays and regular hours on weekends until further notice.
• We will be increasing our already high sanitization protocols and will be disinfecting every two hours instead of daily.
• We will also be asking all members to wash their hands prior to working out and suggest you wash them again following your workout. Please also avoid touching your face.
• We are asking all members to ensure they are cleaning each machine they use following their use and to ensure you are not just wiping areas your sweat may have touched but to wash all surface area, including handles.
• We are temporarily discontinuing towel service and closing our water cooler. Please bring your own workout towel with you. Bottles of water will be available for purchase.
• No customers will be allowed in staff areas (behind front desk area)
• All fabric-based equipment will no longer be available for use (fitness bands, workout belts…)
• We have closed down our touch screen check-in tablet. We are asking every member to check in manually with reception.
• We are asking if you feel ill or have any symptoms that you do not come to the gym. (This includes cold & flu symptoms)
• If you have traveled outside of the country in the past 2 weeks, we ask that you do not come to the gym.
• We will stay within the City of Calgary’s regulations of no more than 50% of fire load capacity.
We hope these increased measures will allow us to stay open for our customers and those seeking fitness options in the city. We will monitor the situation daily and make changes as needed. Please watch our social media channels for any announcements.
As a small business, we want to thank you all for your continued support, cooperation and understanding in this difficult time and ever-changing landscape.
