August has such a different energy than July this summer. While very rainy, July felt like an expansion, full of potential and outward creative energy, and August….. August feels like slow, cozy, introspection.

Does anyone else feel the same?

There is nothing that makes me feel more that Summer has arrived than Strawberry season. Time to soak up the Sun. Let the Summer rains cleanse away your tension. And gorge yourself on sweet fruits.

2 years.

So much has happened since we opened our doors. We’ve added many new members to the team, I’ve grown a whole little human, we’ve been able to help so many people, and we’ve done a whole lot of learning.

Thanks so much for such an amazing team at Encompass Holistic Health and many thanks to everyone who came by on Saturday to celebrate our birthday. Here’s to many more years!

People often ask me what one thing I would recommend to restore relationship between land and people. My answer is almost always, “Plant a garden.” It’s good for the health of the earth and it’s good for the health of people. A garden is a nursery for nurturing connection, the soil for cultivation of practical reverence. And its power goes far beyond the garden gate—once you develop a relationship with a little patch of earth, it becomes a seed itself. Something essential happens in a vegetable garden. It’s a place where if you can’t say “I love you” out loud, you can say it in seeds. And the land will reciprocate, in beans. - Robin Wall Kimmerer

-Devotion-

Devotion seems like such
a big word.
As if its use is limited
to grand ideas.

But who isn’t most deserving
of Devotion as
the seeding trying to grow,
the calm from watching a sunset,
the child reaching for your hand,
Yourself?

For aren’t we all connected
to the big
and grand ideas?
So.

Practicing devotion is
giving attention to all things,
big and small
and realizing how
they devote back to you.

About Me

I graduated with honours from the 2200 hour program at MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy. I have also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, and was a member of the U of C varsity wrestling team for four years. My background in athletics and dealing with injuries has given me great insight into how important it is to support and care for your body to better enjoy your every day life and activities.

I am passionate about learning more ways to treat the human body. To that end, I am currently enrolled in my fourth year of an Osteopathic Manual Therapy program at the Canadian School of Osteopathy in Vancouver in order to broaden my knowledge and scope of practice, and to provide the best possible care for my clients.

Osteopathy is a natural medicine which aims to restore function in the body by treating the causes of pain and imbalance. To achieve this goal the Osteopathic Manual Practitioner relies on the quality and finesse of his/her palpation and works with the position, mobility and quality of the tissues.

During my treatments, I use craniosacral, visceral manipulation, fascial release, and joint mobilization techniques.
