When I started LifeStyle Solutions Therapy, I wasn’t just building a practice; I was following a calling. 🌿

Over the years, I worked with individuals navigating trauma, grief, mental health challenges, cognitive changes, and life transitions. But my connection to this work runs even deeper.

I have faced my own struggles with loss, profound life changes, and the identity shifts that come with motherhood.

I understand, not just professionally but personally, how overwhelming it can feel to rebuild, to wonder if life will ever feel steady, meaningful, or truly your own again.

I saw the same pattern again and again:
People were being diagnosed, treated, or counselled, but still asking:
“How do I live after this?”

I realized that what so many people needed wasn’t just a plan to survive.
They needed a way to reclaim their purpose, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with life after experiencing loss, illness, or a major change.

That’s what occupational therapy is all about. It’s real, meaningful, life-centred therapy. 🧠✨

LifeStyle Solutions Therapy was created to bridge that gap.

I have some exciting news to share! After years of dedicating my life to academia I’m proud to share that I’ve completed my doctoral degree in psychology. My doctoral project centred around perinatal loss and bereavement which is a topic near and dear to my heart. As a registered and licensed occupational therapist in Alberta what this means for my clients:

Let’s talk grounding. Did you know you could use your senses to help you find relief from anxiety? Common tools I always have on me when doing exposure therapy are some scents. Scents are super powerful and can be a quick, easy, and accessible “tool” to have on hand. I usually tell my clients to make an exposure kit before our session, which can often include a favourite scent. You can use sprays, essential oils, perfumes, lotion, or even a lip chap. Pack it up and throw them in your purse or pocket today. You can thank me later. 😉
