Heather says: This Hatha inspired class is designed to gently bring us to the edge of our practice. Using props, we will explore the polar sensations of strength and release. This class combines endurance and isometric movements. The intention is to safely explore our limits where the right amount of stress within the body will build physical and mental strength. The energy generated in the first 40 minutes of class will be countered by a cooldown designed to release the mind and body of tension and prepare us for a restful evening.

I recall my feelings in advance of my 200HR. Am I prepared? Can I actually be good enough to teach? Where will this take me? Turns out! I was fully capable and it took me to places I’d never imagined! 😍

Returning to now teach yoga trainees ALWAYS gets me excited! 🤗 From the eagerness and nervous energy at the start, to the countless light bulb moments, to the endearing support between everyone; it’s an amazing journey that I get to engage with and watch unfold.

To those beginning tomorrow just know; you are ready, you can do this, and only time will show where it will lead you.

During a candid conversation with friends we chatted about this topic and shared our unique stories. A wonderful conversation about how finding yoga, finding physical movement, and finding community gave us what we needed at the time.

The conversation revealed that as life changes and evolves so do the needs we look our yoga to fulfill and it has yet to let us down.

I know, I know! For those who have not discovered yoga it all seems a little unrealistic. But there is a reason why this practice has existed for centuries and why its popularity in the western world exploded. Secret! 🤫 It’s not about the stretchy pants!

You may have seen beautiful photos of Aerial Yoga poses that are picturesque and gravity defying. They are beautiful and I assure you they are also accessible. ‘Yoga is not only for the flexible, it's for the willing’ and the same applies for Aerial Yoga.

In this 2HR hour workshop you will explore ways to use the silk to deepen, strengthen and ease familiar yoga pose.

Vrkasana (tree pose) standing in the silk and allowing all the weight to release the planter fascia and your holding the silk so you don't have to worry about balance?
Have you ever experienced a Sirsasana (headstand) with the gravity defying release of the whole spine? Adho Mukha Svanasana (downward dog) with more energy rising up then grounding down?

The most subtle of the elements, Ether is all about space and openness. This element governs communication, intuition, and spiritual awareness and permeates and connects everything together.

When Ether is balanced, we feel secure, supported, accepted, understood, and still. We feel deeply connected to others, ourselves, life, nature, the universe, and our highest consciousness. Balance allows for clear, truthful expression and communication.

When Ether is unbalanced, it can create blockages: Energetically, we may feel closed off, or as if we can’t get enough time or space.

This element is best balanced and strengthened through meditation, awareness, and mindfulness.

In our Restorative practice, we will focus on the feeling of structural integrity and release for maximum spaciousness, openness, and ease. A Meditation practice will help us connect to our inner voice, while gently reminding us that the space inside ourselves is the same space that exists in all other beings.

-All levels
-Curious yogis interested in exploring breathwork and meditation alongside thoughtfully sequenced movement practices

✨WEIGHTLESS GUIDED MEDITATION✨

With the addition of our aerial silks the AYC is announcing our 30min Weightless Guided Meditation. An in-studio only experience, our silks will support you in finding comfort and ease as you drift into a guided meditative state.

Why guided meditation? Our mind has a tendency to wander and many find it easier to focus and relax when led by a teacher/guide.

Join us August 17! Limited space available. Our Summer ☀️ schedule is still on so these will pop up until our regular Fall 🍂schedule arrives.
