About Mellisa
After personally discovering the immense healing benefits of yoga and meditation and driven by a deep-rooted passion to share the teachings with others, Mellisa began her quest for knowledge within the Himalayan Tradition of Yoga and Meditation at Sunshine Yoga Academy through a 200-hour teacher training. Over the past decade, her learning and practice has evolved through an advanced 300-hour Yoga Training enriched with Ayurvedic wisdoms, Reiki levels I,II and III, multiple Meditation Teacher Trainings, Somatic Trauma Therapy Certification, studies in India, and most recently the completion of an Advanced Myofascial Yoga Teacher Training with the Myofascial Yoga Institute of Canada.
Mellisa's approach to guiding is as heartfelt as her own journey to healing—infused with gentleness, fun, and compassion. She believes in the power of movement as medicine, weaving into her classes practices that nourish our nervous system, hydrate fascia, improve proprioception and balance, build inner strength, and encourage an embodied, mindful approach to life.
