Rare Disease Day: Shining a Light on Rare Epilepsy

On the last day of February, Rare Disease Day raises awareness for 300 million people with rare conditions. 🧠💜 Epilepsy affects 1 in 100 people, but some epilepsy syndromes are considered rare, including rare epilepsies like Dravet syndrome, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, and CDKL5 deficiency. These severe disorders often cause drug-resistant seizures and developmental challenges, yet research and treatments remain limited.

On , we want to shine a light on these lesser-known conditions and raise awareness.

This past month, our Knowledge2Empower team has been on the move, delivering engaging educational sessions to teachers and students across private schools, CBE, and the Catholic district! 🎉 From curious Grade 3 and Grade 5 students to dedicated teachers, we’ve had amazing discussions about the brain, seizures, and epilepsy awareness.
