IASTM: Not Just for Muscles

What if I told you that your nervous system is just as important as your muscles when it comes to pain, movement, and recovery? That’s where Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) comes in—it’s not just about “breaking up knots” or targeting tissues. It’s also about helping your nervous system hit reset.

So excited to be joining a kickass team! 🙌🏻

We are so excited to have Rachel Torn, RMT, join the ABHC team! She will be working on Fridays at the clinic and is accepting clients beginning on October 18th.

If you’re looking for a typical spa-style massage, that’s NOT what Rachel does. Her focus is on performance, recovery and injury prevention. While the vibe in her treatment room is laid-back, her sessions are built around getting you real results. Instead of sticking to a rigid plan that ignores your current needs, she tailors each session based on how you’re feeling and what your body requires at that moment. This flexible approach allows her to adapt to what’s actually happening in your muscles and joints, leading to better results.

Rachel specializes in therapeutic and sports focused massage and does not do relaxation, prenatal or non-athletic pediatric massage.
