Let’s untangle three words we toss around like confetti every January: resolution, choice, and decision. They’re cousins, not twins.

🧩 The Difference
🔁 A Choice
A choice is a moment.
Coffee or tea. Scroll or sleep.
It’s often quick, sometimes automatic, and doesn’t require a press conference with yourself.
⚖️ A Decision
A decision is a choice that went through customs.
You weighed options, imagined consequences, and then committed.
Decisions carry intent and usually some cost, effort, or follow-through.
🎯 A New Year’s Resolution
A resolution is a decision wearing a tuxedo.
It’s symbolic, future-focused, and tied to identity.
You’re not just deciding to work out, you’re declaring “I’m becoming someone who works out.”
That’s powerful. And heavy.

🧠 The Science Behind How We Make Them
Choices
• Driven by habit loops and the brain’s autopilot
• Largely handled by the basal ganglia
• Fast, low energy, often unconscious
Decisions
• Involve the prefrontal cortex
• Require evaluation, trade-offs, and self-control
• Mentally expensive but more durable
Resolutions
• Light up motivation and reward circuits
• Trigger the “fresh start effect,” where time landmarks boost optimism
• Compete with old habits that are neurologically entrenched
• Feel inspiring, but rely heavily on willpower unless backed by systems

🧠 Why Resolutions Often Fade (It’s Not a Moral Failing)
Your brain prefers:
• Familiar patterns
• Immediate rewards
• Minimal effort
A resolution asks it to do the opposite for weeks or months. That’s like asking a cat to enjoy a bath.

🌱 The Upgrade Path
Instead of only making a resolution, try this stack:
• Decide what actually matters
• Choose small, repeatable actions
• Let identity change emerge naturally
Big declarations start the story.
Small choices write the chapters.

Fascia & Its Role
Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds every cell in the body, supporting communication and alignment. When posture, breathing, habitual movements, or gravity cause strain, fascia compensates by creating stabilizing adhesions. While protective, these adhesions compress tissues, reduce oxygen and blood flow, and can lead to pain, disease, poor sleep, and mental health challenges.
Block Therapy
Block Therapy is a practice designed to release fascia restrictions, restore balance, and improve circulation. It uses a wooden tool called the Block Buddy. By lying on the block in specific positions with focused breathing, body weight, and gravity, heat is generated that softens adhesions and restores flow.

Prerequisite introductory class that introduces the concepts of Block Therapy and a 90 minute full body session .

Then the first month begins with Foundation I -Core ,to strengthen diaphragmatic breathing.
Progresses Foundation II - Pelvis ,legs and feet then
Foundation III -Arms,neck and head
Each stage is practiced for a month for lasting balance and harmony

I’m a Block Therapy instructor and founder of Wise Modern Wellness.
My journey began with a passion for holistic health, rooted in nutrition, Reiki, and mindfulness, and grounded in science through my background as a registered veterinary technologist. After struggling with debilitating plantar fasciitis and finding no relief through mainstream care, I discovered Block Therapy—and it completely changed my life. Within days, I was pain-free, and soon noticed better posture, flexibility, deeper breathing, and improved sleep.
Now, I’m grateful to share this powerful, restorative practice with others. Block Therapy combines intuition, science, and the breath to create balance, healing, and overall wellness.
