Into the Summit for Mental Health and Wellness

Into the Summit for Mental Health and Wellness Contribute to the campaign to raise awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder and it's devastating effects on military veterans and their families.

Join us for an adventure to descend into Rat's Nest Cave, in support of military veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and its devastating effects on themselves and their families. Taking place in April 2025, cavers will descend down into and through an unfamiliar place, struggling to navigate the darkness. Be a part of this adventure as a caver, volunteer or donor -- and help to make a difference.

On behalf of all of us at Citadel Canine Society, we would like to sincerely thank the Hamilton Gault Memorial Fund, and the many PPCLI Veterans who make up your organization, for the recent donation in 2025 to help support our mission. It is generous donations from dedicated Canadian veterans' organizations such as yours that have enabled us to provide PTSD medical service dogs to our military veterans, and to our first responders for nearly 15 years. We have many ex PPCLI veterans within our program, and several of them act as much appreciated regular Ambassadors on our behalf. We are very proud to note that the bond between our service dog operation and the PPCLI veterans' community is strong, and whenever possible, we will endeavor to ensure that PPCLI veterans remain within our large Intake queue of potential service dog recipients. Once again, we say THANK YOU to your members for their Service, and to your organization for it's support. 🥰👍

Our team successfully navigated physical and mental challenges while underground, and have now raised over $20,000 towards our cause. We had an incredible day underground in Canmore, Alberta, crawling, rappelling, and squeezing through passages. Thanks to Canmore Cave Tours for providing access to the cave and for our equipment and other support. Our donation portal will be closing soon, but there is still a little time to show support to our team. Head over to https://www.canmorecavetours.com/into-the-summit to give. Funds raised are directed to supporting veterans with occupational stress injury programs and treatment.

Just a few days away from our event, April 13. Can we raise over $20,000? All proceeds go towards mental health initiatives for our veterans. We are going into the darkness, so that others may find light.

The Hamilton Gault Memorial Fund, deeply tied to the legacy of the PPCLI, invites you to support Into the Summit—an April 13 adventure into Rat’s Nest Cave near Canmore, Alberta. This isn’t just about the thrill; it’s about raising vital funds and awareness for those suffering from PTSD and Operational Stress Injuries (OSI). These injuries can affect not only service members but also their families. Your support enables innovative treatment programs beyond clinical walls—like equine therapy, art therapy, and peer support.

Every step into the darkness helps someone find light. Less than 5 days left to contribute—please consider donating: https://ow.ly/IMxq50VvJMS

Our Story

The PPCLI Foundation is leading a an exciting adventure in support of mental health for military veterans. Taking place on November 10, 2019, participants will descend into Rat’s Nest Cave near Canmore, Alberta.

Doing so, these adventurers will raise vital funds for and awareness about post-traumatic stress disorder and its devastating effects on individuals and families.

Caves are dark, otherworldly environments. Most people have not had the experience of total darkness, moving through difficult terrain. It’s an unfamiliar world. Like many of those who suffer from occupational stress injuries, they too have found themselves in an unfamiliar place, struggling to navigate the darkness.

Participants are raising funds to participate in this adventure and experience this challenging environment. Each has committed to raising funds by taking pledges to support their participation.
