🚨𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱: 𝗘𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻🚨

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is here. The 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗡𝗢𝗠) acknowledging motorsports as part of Calgary’s sports landscape is coming forward on 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟲—and now it’s time to show City Council just how much our community matters.

We need 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 to take action and send a letter to city councillors 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟲. Your voice will make the difference in protecting the future of Wild Rose Motocross Park.

🚗☀️ August Long Weekend is here, Calgary! ☀️🚗

Your Calgary firefighters want you to enjoy every second. Road trips, lake days, and time with loved ones are what this weekend is all about. But please remember to drive safe.

We are often the first on scene after a serious crash. We have seen the toll it takes on families, bystanders, and ourselves. It’s not always something we talk about, but it’s something we see far too often.

According to a CBC News article published January 30, 2025, Calgary recorded its highest number of fatal collisions in more than a decade:

"2024 marked the highest number of fatal road collisions in over a decade"
– Calgary Police Service and Insp. Paul Wozney, CPS Traffic Unit

And the trend is not just fatal crashes. From Calgary Fire stats, motor vehicle collisions increased from 3,033 to 3,204 last year. That is a 5.6 percent rise. We all need to keep looking out for one another.

So this weekend, let’s do better:
✅ Put the phone down
✅ Slow down and scan ahead
✅ Be patient, even in traffic
✅ Make sure everyone gets home safe

It is not just about rules. It is about lives. Drive like your loved ones are in every vehicle around you.
