I have heard it many times and at one point I probably would have used it as well, until I KNEW better.

Once you start checking out the ingredients of the foods you eat and doing a dive into what our food USED to be compared to what they are NOW, I promise you will never say this again!!

And not only are the INGREDIENTS worse....

-Our soil today has WAY fewer nutrients than it did 50 years ago.

RED DYE 40 is still legal in Canada despite overwhelming evidence it is harmful. And this makes me MAD!

The FDA’s decision is only happening NOW after decades of research linking the dye to cancer and behavioral issues in children.

Us "CRUNCHY" moms have known it is harmful for years, it is nice the science is catching up!

Companies have 2 YEARS to comply. In my opinion this is far too long. Manufacturers must comply by January 2027 for food and January 2028 for drugs.

Many other countries banned Red Dye already such as Norway, Finland, France, Austria, the UK, and more. Advocacy groups hailed the decision as overdue, aligning the U.S. closer to the EU, which banned the dye in 1994.⁠ Canada has decided they know best and refuse to ban it.

There are other alternatives to Red Dye 40 such as beet powder however companies refuse to use it as it is not cost effective. Beet powder can be found both locally and online, it also has health benefits such as reducing inflammation, lowering blood pressure, improving gut health, increased cognitive function and is high in fibre.

7day GUT FRIENDLY MEAL PLAN for moms on the go 🌿

I have enough on my plate already as a mom with a busy career on top of maintaining the household. The thought of what I was going to eat for every meal used to stress me out. I used to grab convenient, processed foods because I didn't have the time to figure out what I was going to make, cook it and make sure I had all the ingredients. Which would leave me more drained of energy, uncomfortable, bloated, brain foggy, and irritable.

Meal planning has changed the game for me. To be perfectly honest I usually only plan out 4/5 bigger meals a week then eat the leftovers or stick to the same quick and easy whole food meals I can whip together for lunches or breakfasts. I've done this for my kids as well, and now they look forward to their taco or pizza making nights.

Here's a sample meal plan I've put together in my (free) Good Gut Guide, you can find all the recipes there as well. Try out some of the meals for yourself or use this exact meal plan to help reset your gut. Let me know what you think and if you're interested in me posting more weekly meal plans.
