Life Update:

Lately, I've been asked things like “Where do you live now?” or “Germany or Toronto?”
Here is the scoop. Last July, we said vows that made us laugh and cry at the altar and celebrated our love and commitment with friends and family. Four days later, we were on a plane to spend our first year of marriage in Germany. It was always only for a year. Eric took a year-long break from his residency program to do a post-doctoral fellowship in Heidelberg. It was a year of bliss, just the three of us travelling and enjoying life together. We went on daily walks through a forest or vineyards and ate and drank incredible food while soaking in quality time together. We travelled to 14 countries (Charlie got to go to 11!), all before returning to Toronto. You’ll see more photos from our past year soon.

Now we are settling back into Toronto. I am back to teaching online and in-person classes.

Lately, my private yoga clients have been coming to me for the following:
- Prenatal
- Creating a yoga routine that is personal to balance their body & life
- Joy of getting stronger and more flexible
- Aerial Yoga
- Managing some health-related symptoms like stress, sleep and fatigue

You can catch in-person classes and online classes on Insight timer(link in bio). I've been teaching yin, restorative and mindful flows. One class I've been really excited about is Flow and Restore Story Time, where I share the mythology behind some of the pose's names ✌🏼

I used to think that restorative yoga was silly. Honestly, you pretty much just lay there! Yet, most students feel refreshed and rejuvenated after practice. The first time you practice, it can be difficult to relax, but after a few times, your body can transition to a deep state of relaxation where it can repair, and the mind can integrate experiences. Give it a try! Check out my YouTube channel (link in bio) for some ten-minute restorative yoga videos.

Have you heard of the Koshas? When I work with my clients, I use the koshas to develop their personalized practice. The koshas are often known as layers of our experience. Try checking in with your koshas!

Physical body - how is your physical body feeling? Aches, pains? Disease or illness? How is your sleep?

Breath & subtle body - what is your breath like? Mouth or nose breather? Where does the breath go in the body?

Emotional body - can you name 1-4 different emotions you have felt today, this week or this month?

Mental body - check in with your thoughts. Are they often in the present, past or future? Are there any patterns or frequent ideas?

Bliss (connect to your joy) body - when did you last feel deeply connected to yourself or experience a deep sense of joy?

Now ask yourself, would you enjoy learning and trying out some movements, breathing or meditation techniques to support one or more of these koshas? If so, maybe you would like to learn more about Yoga therapy sessions! Send me a DM or visit the link in my bio!

Did you see Charlie’s little tail in the corner? Do you have a favourite room in your home? I do! I choose to do yoga there, read and do some of my other favourite activities. One of the best parts about seeing a yoga therapist online is being able to set up your space the way you want it! The amount of light your want, the fragrances you want and the comfort objects (blankets/pillows) that you want! Not to mention not having to travel somewhere, no waiting areas or other people.
Do you practice yoga at home? What is one thing you do to set up your space?

Take a class, join a community

Welcome to Breeze! We are a boutique yoga studio in the heart of Gasoline Alley. We offer many specialty classes as well as your favorite standard classes. We believe in community above all else, so when you come into class don’t be afraid to say hi to your neighbor! Grab some complimentary tea, sit on the couch and meet some one new.

We want to empower you with knowledge to continue to grow your practice, so if there’s something you are wanting to learn let us know and we will work it in. Throughout the year there are many opportunities for learning. We offer a variety of workshops, training’s, and events to water your growth!

Lastly we are a family friendly studio! We LOVE your kids! Don’t forget to measure them when you come in! We offer a handful of kids classes, family friendly, child minding and best of all we will PICK YOU KIDS UP FROM SCHOOL! WHOOO! Then they come to the studio each day, get their practice in, and you swing by after work around 5:15.

See you on the mat!
