That’s why there’s a 3.14 km marker out on the course.
Last year someone happened to be wearing bib #314, which felt like the universe really supporting the bit.

Our first Race Around the Place was more than a race — it was a day filled with encouragement, energy, and unforgettable moments. None of it would have been possible without every runner, volunteer, and supporter who showed up and gave it their all.

What a day! 🏁

Our very first Race Around the Place brought together 511 runners, 95 amazing volunteers, and an entire community that showed up with energy, spirit, and heart.

From perfect weather ☀️ to endless cheers, and even one legendary runner who took on the course in full jeans 👖, this day was everything we dreamed it could be — and it’s all thanks to YOU. 💙

A huge thank-you to our sponsors, partners, and volunteers who made every detail possible, and to everyone who ran, walked, and supported The Hunger Stop. Together, we turned a simple idea into something truly special for Carleton Place.

The Carleton Place Community Enrichment Program proudly supports Race Around the Place on Saturday, October 25!

-Plan Ahead- The following roads will be closed to accommodate the event:
*Moore Street, from Munro Street to Lake Avenue (7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
*Bridge Street, from Lake Avenue to Townline (7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.)
*High Street will be reduced to one (1) lane from Bridge Street to Lockhard Campbell Way.
-Residents may experience delays in traffic as participants will be using residential streets and trails. Please cheer on the racers as you see them!
