80/20 rule - It’s about what you do 80% of the time

So if 80% of the time…

🛌 sleeping good
🤸🏼‍♀️ getting in exercise
❤️‍🩹 practicing self care

… you’re winning.

Use that other 20%…

You’re life doesn’t stop just because you’re taking care of your health and fitness.

Hear me out

You will burn out.

If you are trying to accomplish your goals sustainably, why would you change the way you do EVERYTHING?

A complete 360 often leads to a client being overwhelmed and missing their old life, possibly ditching the entire program to go back to something more comfortable

I try to work WITH my clients instead.

I try to think about how can we make them and their life more successful with just tweaks here and there.

What are some healthy habit swaps we can make into your life to help you?

My goal is to help you create a balanced life that reaches your goals, but that you also still get to enjoy all the things you love.

I batch cook all my sources of macronutrients so I can grab from each and make a different meal everyday so I don’t need to eat the same thing!

Suffering comes from wishing things were different.

Misery is self-inflicted, when we are expecting the “ideal” to overcome the “actual,” or needing things (or people or places) to be different for us so we can then be happy.

Let the hard things in life break you.

Let them effect you.

Let them change you.

Lean into it.

You cannot keep beating yourself up about where you are, when you are the one with complete power to change your life.

Optimising your training sessions 💪🏽

I used to think the more I trained the better i’d look.

So I’d go to the gym 6-7 days a week.

I thought the more I “grinded” and sore I was the better.

I think a lot of us get like that when we first get started in the gym: excited about the progress and reaching our goals as quick as we can.

Running yourself down isn’t something to be proud of though.

I’m much farther ahead (and happier!!) going to the gym 4-5 days a week.

The reduction in stress on the body is heavenly.

The intention is more direct in exercise.

Energy is less fuelled by caffeine and more by drive.

Recovery is better because there’s actually time for it.

Doing more isn’t always the answer.

PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD 💪🏽

What is it?

By definition, progressive overload is when you gradually increase the weight, frequency, or number of repetitions in your training regime.

Basically, it’s how you keep getting better.

If you are not actively trying to move your weight up, add in another rep, or practise better form every session, you are never going to improve. Simple as that.

Things might get easier, but you will stay stagnant.

You need to challenge yourself!

Last week my brother and I played a little volleyball together and I couldn’t believe how tired I was after 10 minutes 😅

I miss sports and being athletic, and the different style of training intensity.

So this week I’ve been doing more athlete style training and working on explosive movements, agility, and power.

Absolutely loving it. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

I feel more energized, excited about my training sessions, and athletic honestly. And it’s only been 3 sessions haha.

Can’t wait to keep this up and see where I’m at/how I feel even in another weeks time.
