2020 has tested us all in so many ways.

I am looking forward to the opportunities of 2021, and grateful for what I have learned from 2020, as difficult as it may have been.

Wishing everyone health and happiness in the New Year.

Right!!! Have you ever heard someone say they regret eating healthy?

Enjoy food, and eat what makes you feel good 😊. It’s as simple as that 💫

Nothing’s better than soft, smooth, silky newborn baby 👶🏼 skin...until it’s not so soft and smooth.

The American Academy of Dermatology estimates that eczema affects up to 20 percent of infants.

Parents often find that their infant has beautiful, clear skin for a few weeks to months after birth but then a few concerns arise. Possibly cradle cap, dryness on the cheeks, rashes under the chin, and bum rashes.

These conditions can all be caused by different factors but baby eczema seems to last longer than most other conditions, possibly for years.

Some things to consider are:
🔸mom’s diet if she’s breastfeeding
🔸if the child has been on antibiotics, or if mom had antibiotics during delivery
🔸animals in the house
🔸family history of allergies and eczema

The investigation into the cause is just as important as treatment.

And remember, eczema is not caused by a corticosteroid deficiency!

Friendly reminder to take your Vitamin D ☀️

Vitamin D is so important to many areas of health, and unfortunately with our days getting shorter, and colder, people aren’t outside long enough to get their full dose from the sun.

Vitamin D is vital in regulating the absorption of calcium for growth, development and maintenance of bone 🦴

Vitamin D can support the immune system by fighting off harmful bacteria and viruses 🦠

There is a significant relationship between depression and vitamin D deficiency.

Really, there’s no reason every Canadian shouldn’t be getting their daily dose of vitamin D.

So there you go, reminder ✅
