A BIG THANK YOU!
On Saturday June 28, we held our first event at the Charlottetown Yacht Club, showing off the Martin 16 and adaptive sailing equipment. It went great! It was so exciting to see so many people come out and express interest in the AbleSail program. I loved meeting so many enthusiastic people, and I hope you'll all continue to keep in touch as we try to get boats in the water!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support, and to hear Mark Bridges from Shediac AbleSail and Paul Tingley, paralympic gold medalist, speak about the AbleSail program. A big thank you to Mark, Paul, Daniel, Lily, Katie, and Reid for all their time and effort organizing, running and speaking at the event. Thank you to the Charlottetown Yacht Club, Sail PEI, Parasport and Recreation PEI, Spinal Cord PEI, CNIB PEI, and Shediac AbleSail for all your support and assistance in making this event, and hopefully all future events possible.
For those who might have missed our event: we will be running another talk and demonstration on the AbleSail program on Saturday July 12!
I'm excited for all the possibilities that we can pursue with our own AbleSail program on the Island. I hope to see everyone on the water next year!
