URGENT: Seven Beautiful Roosters Need a Safe Place to Go

Yesterday, a community member named Alana reached out to Peaceful Pastures Farm Sanctuary with a heartfelt request; could we take in seven beautiful roosters who urgently need a safe home?

We want so badly to say yes.

These boys are absolutely beautiful — bright red, copper, black, grey, and soft white feathers, each with their own personality and spirit. Like so many roosters, they are often overlooked, misunderstood, and left with very few safe options when they need help.

This is exactly why Peaceful Pastures Farm Sanctuary was created--to offer compassion, dignity, and safety to animals who need someone to stand up for them.

But right now, we do not have the infrastructure to take them in responsibly. To give these seven roosters a proper home, we need to build a secure chicken coop, create safe outdoor space, and purchase the feed, bedding, and supplies needed to care for them.

We cannot rescue them unless we can do it properly — and we cannot do it without help.

That is why we are asking our community to come together today.

A donation of any amount will help us move closer to giving these roosters the safe home they deserve. Every dollar will go toward shelter materials, feed, bedding, and the basic setup needed to welcome them to the sanctuary.

This need is urgent. These animals need somewhere safe to go, and we want Peaceful Pastures to be that place.

Please donate now, share this post, and help us spread the word.

From all of us at Peaceful Pastures Farm Sanctuary — thank you for helping us build a kinder future, one animal at a time. ~ Mayanne

One of the things we are most proud of is that we have built and maintained a great relationship with many of our neighbors in the county, including cattle ranchers and other farmers. We have a mutual respect for what each other does and some amazing friendships have been formed.
The willingness of my neighbors to help out whenever needed is beyond words and what I can express for gratitude over the last few years. I've learned so much from their support for what we do.

Meet Mayanne Connors Campbell, founder of Peaceful Pastures Farm Sanctuary in Cherhill, Lac Ste. Anne County, Alberta.

Mayanne’s love for animals has been part of her life for many years. For more than 12 years, she has been involved in animal rescue and animal welfare, including serving on the boards of two Alberta animal rescue societies. She has also spent the past several years caring for horses, cows, chickens, and other farm animals on her own farm — many of them rescues or animals who needed a safe place to land.

May is also an EAL Canada Equine Assisted Personal Development Coach, earning her designation in 2021. Her training reflects what she has seen firsthand: animals can help people build trust, confidence, connection, patience, and emotional awareness.

Peaceful Pastures Farm Sanctuary is being created with a simple but meaningful purpose: to provide rescued and vulnerable farm animals with safety, shelter, care, and room to live peacefully.

The immediate need is practical and urgent. May has already been asked to take in more animals, including horses and senior cows, but she cannot responsibly say yes until more shelters and water access are in place.

Each shelter costs approximately $3,500, and at least four more are needed to prepare the paddocks and pasture safely.

Please help us support Mayanne’s vision by donating, sharing, or sending this campaign to someone who may want to help Alberta farm animals in need.
