A bit of introduction to this program, beginning February 5. The deadline is coming soon, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Moving Through
What could help you move through stress, grief, or feeling stuck? This program explores concepts of nervous system regulation, and integrates those concepts into a movement practice. Each class will have an introduction to a somatic skill for supporting nervous system health, guided movement to a variety of music, and a short reflection. The movement is gentle, exploratory, and uses simple repetitive moves, as well as some guided free exploration. We’ll explore somatic movement skills such as start and stop, connect with rhythm, expand and contract, and follow the flow. All are welcome – no experience required, and any mobility challenges can be included.

From a fall participant: "Kathleen renewed my interest in dance and I loved her tiny teachings, music playlist, rhythm & flow. As a participant I was very engaged and did not want to miss a session."

Just a reminder that tomorrow we will be hosting our Holiday Connections Café! Come on in for a craft, a puzzle and a warm cup of hot chocolate!🎄

The holiday season is upon us, as we gather together with friends, family & neighbors to share and laugh and warm each other’s spirits while the winter begins to settle in. It can also be a difficult time of year, when we remember those loved ones who aren’t able to be with us anymore. But it can be a time to reflect fondly on the moments we had with them, the Holiday Cheer we were able to share. We invite you to join us for an afternoon of crafts, community and a warm drink to bring a small piece of that spirit back with some beautiful, handmade ornaments in their memory. Be it a dearly loved family member or friend, or a furry little critter that once stole your heart, warm up with a cherished memory and share it with a friend or neighbor who might also be feeling a weight in their heart. We will also have puzzles & games, or just hot chocolate, coffee or tea if you wish to simply come and enjoy a bit of community togetherness with us. Ornaments will then be strung inside the lobby to keep that warmth going as we move through the Christmas season. Come on in an help spread a bit of joy with us, Friday December 12th from 1pm to 3pm. Hope to see you there!

Warm wishes from all of us at OHC & Nova Scotia Health!

This six-week series offers support for nervous system wellness, with 'bite-sized' ideas, blended into a gentle movement practice.

The moves are simple and playful, including some guided free exploration. We’ll discover somatic movement themes such as start and stop, connect with rhythm, expand and contract, and follow the flow.
