Why It’s Important to Wait for the Horse Before Touching
When you visit my farm, it’s common for many people to want to pet and hug the horses. However, I encourage a different approach—one that emphasizes self-discovery and personal growth through the horses’ guidance. This doesn’t always mean hands-on interaction. The essence of our work here is energy-based.
When we instinctively reach out to touch a horse, we often forget that they can absorb our emotions. Just like any being, horses can unwittingly become a repository for our stress and negative energy. This can be harmful to their well-being, as they may carry the weight of emotions that aren’t theirs. Most people don’t intend to offload their feelings onto these gentle creatures, but it can happen unconsciously, and it’s something I aim to avoid in this environment.
Here, the focus is on being mindful and working through your beliefs and past traumas. The horses are here to support you—not to take on your emotional burdens. True healing involves recognizing that while they are incredibly intuitive and compassionate beings, they can’t clear what we carry inside.
My horses are precious to me, and I want to protect their energy. If your primary intention is to simply pet and hug them, my farm may not be the right fit for you. Instead, we honor the horses’ presence. If they choose to approach or stand beside you, it’s their way of offering support during your journey.
At the end of your visit, if the moment feels right, sharing a gentle touch or a hug in gratitude is a beautiful way to acknowledge the connection. Remember, it’s about mutual respect and mindful interaction that honors the horse’s spirit and your own healing process.
