Are you new to Claresholm and the surrounding community? On behalf of the Claresholm Medical Clinic - Welcome! As is the situation elsewhere in Alberta, our clinic physicians are unable to accept new patients as their practices are at capacity. That said, if you have an EMERGENCY you should go to the Claresholm General Hospital immediately. As the hospital is best suited for truly acute issues, our clinic and it's physicians are doing their best to accommodate patients who do not have a family doctor. What does this mean for you? It means that if you contact our clinic you will be offered the first available appointment with any one of the doctors. That means that our clinic reception will assign you the first available doctor - you cannot request a specific physician, as that will be at the discretion of front reception. It also means that you must have an appointment as we are not a walk-in facility. Like all Albertans, we truly hope that the physician shortage is a top priority for our government. Please be respectful of our hard working staff if we cannot accommodate you in a time frame of your choice.
