As we’re slowly creeping towards warmer weather, I’ve been excitedly planning my outdoors adventures for the year.

I’ve got 5 multi-day overnight hikes booked but I also want to explore some day hikes

So check this out, the Uxbridge Woodlands has a trail called the North Walker Woods Loop (giving Walking Dead vibes 😬😜)

🔸It’s under 5 kms
🔸considered easy
🔸has free road parking

So I’m planning on being there May 30 no later than 10 am and I would love to have company!

If you want to be a part of this, let me know!

Well, they say spring has sprung, but while we wait for the rest of the snow to melt let’s plan some trips!

Last year I did a handful of hikes and absolutely loved everything about it. It wasn’t always easy but at the end of the day I felt so accomplished.

Being outside, navigating routes, packing the backpack, setting up camp, cooking outdoors…all of it takes time and planning.

So here’s what I’m thinking for this year - I have two overnight hikes coming up that have spaces for friends to join:

May 1-3 at Frontenac Provincial Park, doing a loop, approximately 15 kms total 🥾

Frontenac PP is amazing for new hikers! There’s wooden tent pads on most sites, a metal bear bin for food and an outhouse in each camping area.

Next up is a hike at Bon Echo, doing the Abes & Essens trail.

I’ll be on this trail July 26-28, doing about 17kms total.

This one is new to me and will be a different experience for sure! Camping here will involve hanging our food, having bug spray and thunder boxes for a bathroom. A little more ‘rustic’ than Frontenac!

I have gear recommendations, if you’re not quite all equipped and a lot of it is budget friendly.

For safety, I’ll be carrying bear spray, a whistle and a satellite device called a ZOLEO for emergencies.

I am really excited to get out there and even more excited to share this experience with friends 🎉

So if you’re thinking of getting into backpacking this year, leave a comment below or reach out to me and we can chat more!

The time has come to start planning for hiking season!

So far I have 5 hikes booked this year, some solo, some with friends

I’m not an expert, but I am passionate and I have learned a lot over the last 10 years about camping, paddling and most recently, hiking.

I have spots open for April 19-21 for a hike in Frontenac Provincial Park (important to note, it might be wet and rainy) for an approximate 18 kms total hike over the 3 days

I love Frontenac PP for a first hike! It’s relatively flat in most areas, has critter/bear bins for your food, outhouses and wood platforms for your tent on most of the campsites.

I’m planning on doing 8 hikes this year if possible 😁 So if you’re interested in one later this year, keep checking this page!

Leave a comment with your thoughts!

Shaun and I had a great time starting 2026 the best way we know how - winter camping!

I’ll go a few times this winter, but Shaun will go many many more times 😆

Have you tried winter camping? Would you try it?? It’s a great way to break up the dull, dreary, lonnnnnng winter

Hi everyone! Starting in 2026 I’ll be using this page to focus on hiking, camping and paddling adventures for women.

I’m no expert 😆 but I am passionate about getting myself and others out of their comfort zone and into nature.

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in exploring, thanks for sticking around!

Stay tuned for more adventures!

My radishes didn’t work out that well, maybe I’m too impatient??
I pulled them out and planted peas instead 🤣 I’m the only one that liked radishes anyways lol

Adding radishes to my list of things NOT to grow next year (along with cauliflower and zucchini!)

What was one thing you just couldn’t grow recently?

Changing my focus from my weight to how I want to feel has made all the difference in my motivation for the last couple weeks.

I want to feel strong. And that is different to me than feeling skinny.

There’s nothing wrong with skinny, but my goals now are strength.

Physical and mental.

The past two weeks have felt AH-Mazing and I’m so looking forward to the next 2 weeks.

I’ll keep you all updated 😉
