Delightful news for Kindred OT & Co... I've just been approved as an Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Provider! Occupational therapy is an approved core clinical service regardless, but it's still lovely for parents to have that added peace of mind.

If you're looking for a unique summer opportunity for your neurodivergent child, we're running Nature-Based OT Groups on Saturdays in June, July, and August. This is a therapy program (not a camp), focused on self-regulation, sensory processing health, and social engagement. We still have spaces left for June afternoons, as well as a few spots scattered through July and August. Reach out if you're interested and would like more info! 💚🌳🌲

This event is intended for families in the Central East Region (Peterborough, Durham, Simcoe, York, Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland, Grey Bruce). Priority will be given to families in this region. If you register and live outside this region, your registration may be cancelled.

A great webinar for anybody and everybody! Autism Ontario Central East Region

This webinar introduces autism and neurodiversity. We will discuss autism and neurodiversity, the features of autism, and provide information on how autistic people may perceive and interact with their environment. We will also discuss how you can be an autistic ally, offering practical tips and strategies on how to create an inclusive environment and support autistic people in your home, school, or community.

This webinar can be helpful for anyone who interacts with autistic people, including caregivers, community partners, educators, and other professionals. At the end of the webinar, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and participate in a live Q&A session with a member of the Autism Ontario team.

Virtual Yoga with Tova - Caregiver & Child Program

Join us for a 6-week Virtual Yoga program led by Tova Ralph, a certified yoga instructor who will support breathing and self-regulation skills used in class and practiced at home to help when self-regulation is needed.

Participants will learn body awareness, balance and how to adapt yoga to fit their body’s needs. Throughout this program, autistic children and their caregivers will engage in different themes, such as breathing exercises, body awareness, and self-regulation techniques. The sessions will be interactive, and participants can engage in various activities, including yoga poses, partner poses, books, crafts (a list of supplies will be sent out in advance), and mindfulness exercises.

Time: 5:30 pm – 6:15 pm

Dates: Thursdays, February 22 – March 28, 2024
