During your physio treatment with Julie, we don’t jump straight into strengthening. We start by understanding what your body is actually doing first.

An initial assessment helps us find where pain is coming from and how your body may have been compensating over time. We may also use specialized equipment to isolate certain muscles and better understand these patterns.

From there, we return to the foundation: deep core stability. This supports everything else your body does, which is why we focus on it early on.

Once that base is in place, we gradually add bigger movements and strength work. This helps your progress stick, rather than pain just showing up somewhere else.

If there’s a specific injury, like a knee issue, we don’t just avoid it. We look at what needs support and strengthen the surrounding areas so the joint can work properly again.

If this sounds like the kind of care your body needs, you can start with Julie through the link in our bio ✨

If your patience is gone by mid-morning… that is often a sign your nervous system is already overloaded before your day really begins.

This is not about being “bad at coping.” It is what happens when your body has been running on stress for too long without enough space to reset.

At Maliya Wellness, we see this all the time. Emotional stress and physical burnout start to overlap, and it can feel like there is no off switch.

This is where acupuncture can be a supportive starting point. It helps calm the nervous system, ease tension the body is holding onto, and create space for your system to finally downshift.

If this feels familiar, you do not have to figure out where to start on your own. Book a free wellness consultation and we will help guide you toward what your body actually needs next. https://maliya.janeapp.com/

Reiki is a soft, non-invasive healing practice that helps your body slow down, settle, and feel like itself again.

Before a session begins, practitioners often “scan” the body by moving their hands just above you, noticing areas that feel heavier, warmer, or more dense. These subtle cues are believed to point to where you may be holding stress or emotion.

In Reiki, these areas are connected to chakras: energy centers linked to different parts of your life like safety, emotion, confidence, connection, and intuition. When one feels out of balance, it’s less about something being “wrong” and more about something in you asking for attention and softness.

During the session, the practitioner gently works through these areas with light touch or hands just above the body, helping encourage a sense of ease and flow again.

Many people describe it as feeling calm in a way that’s hard to put into words, like your body finally gets permission to exhale 🤍

Have you ever heard cues like “do your Kegels” or “engage your pelvic floor,” but weren’t totally sure what that’s actually supposed to feel like?

A lot of people think pelvic floor engagement means squeezing their glutes, clenching their abs, or tightening “down there” as hard as possible… but that can actually create more tension instead of proper activation.

Dr. Lindsay explains that pelvic floor engagement is less about squeezing inward, and more about a gentle lifting motion.

One of the easiest ways to understand it is through visualization:

✨ Imagine the claw from Toy Story gently lifting upward
✨ Or picture a string running through your body up to the crown of your head, slowly threading beads upward one at a time

These cues can help you feel the difference between simply clenching muscles and actually engaging your pelvic floor properly.

Practicing these techniques consistently at home can help strengthen and improve coordination in the pelvic floor over time 💛

Think gentle lift, coordination, and connection instead of tension. Book your free meet and greet with Dr. Lindsay today!

Thai massage is a completely different experience from a traditional massage ✨

Rooted in centuries of healing tradition, Thai massage works with the entire body through assisted stretching, rhythmic movement, compression, and acupressure to release deep tension and restore balance.

Unlike a typical relaxation massage, you’re gently guided through full-body stretches while the practitioner uses hands, elbows, knees, and sometimes even feet to help open the body and improve mobility.

In your Thai massage, expect a treatment that feels both grounding and energizing:

• deep, intentional pressure
• improved flexibility + circulation
• nervous system support
• stress + tension relief
• a lighter, more open feeling in the body

Often called “assisted yoga,” Thai massage leaves many people feeling restored, rebalanced, and more energized afterwards 🤍

One of the most unique things about Maliya is how interconnected our care truly is.

Our therapists, chiropractors, pelvic floor practitioners, and wellness providers work collaboratively to support the whole person - mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Because wellness is never one-dimensional, and your care shouldn’t be either.
