If certain memories still feel heavy, even after time has passed, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy might be just what you need to fully process and move on.
At its core, EMDR works because of this:
🌿 When something overwhelming happens to you, it doesn’t always get fully processed in the mind and body. So instead of becoming a “past” memory, it stays active in your nervous system, showing up as anxiety, triggers, overreactions, or that lingering heavy feeling.
EMDR gently helps your brain reprocess those experiences in a safe, supported way often using guided eye movements or other techniques to help things “unstick.”
You don’t have to relive everything, and you don’t have to have the perfect words for it.
Over time, many people notice they feel calmer, less reactive, and more like themselves again.
Jennifer is the only practitioner at Maliya who offers EMDR, and she guides you through the process in a way that feels safe and supportive. Click here for more information: https://www.maliya.ca/eye-movement-desensitization-and-reprocessing
