Looks like mugwort wanted to play in my medicine garden 🙂 will be interesting to try it in the kitchen. Traditionally used as medicine for various purposes including treating insomnia, nervousness & hysteria as well as easing menstrual cramps and stimulating menstruation. It has also been used for liver and stomach disorders and to promote sweating and stimulate the immune system.

Let's go get some morels Sat May 3rd up Scotch Creek! Meet at SportChek parking lot at 9am to figure out the commute. We have two 4x4's that can squishily fit 9 extras or you can drive yourself. What to bring : weather appropriate clothing for hiking in a burn zone, knife, cloth bags (not plastic) or baskets (I like to bring coolers to dump my harvests in and start fresh and there's room for you to do the same) , lunch & drinks. Best to wear bright clothing - you wouldn't believe how invisible you become in a forest. It's an all day adventure I'm offering by donation

Thanks to my friend Mike Clarke I now have lovage growing in my yard!! Did you know lovage is used as “irrigation therapy” for pain and swelling (inflammation) of the lower urinary tract, for prevention of kidney stones and to increase the flow of urine when urinary tract infections or fluid retention is present. AND it’s delicious celery flavour will find its way into all your culinary dishes! This perennial plant/shrub will grow 6-8 feet tall every year with little to no effort or special requirements for you… my kind of plant!
