🔔 Resource Alert 🔔

I’ve been using this app myself the last few months and let me tell ya - how user-friendly it is! With great visuals and easy tracking, it’s easy to be consistent. And the consistency can give good data, showing you a monthly breakdown of your tracked mood and providing some tools like breathing exercises, psychoeducation, mindfulness and sound patterns.
Even better? It’s FREE and you don’t have to create an account (unless secure backup, sharing abilities and AI insights are important to you).
Looking for an alternative mood tracker? This one might be for you, as it is for me.

It’s been a minute since I’ve shared another Counsellor’s Corner moment so here it is: I’m a Girl Mom.

Which means I’m raising girls in a world that is still learning how to value women fully.

This International Women’s Day, I’m thinking about:
• the women navigating systems that weren’t designed for them
• the parents working to break glass ceilings for their daughters
• those raising boys to become thoughtful, respectful men
• and the women carrying the invisible pressure of biological timelines and expectations

There are many ways to be strong as a woman.

Sometimes strength is breaking barriers.
Sometimes it’s simply continuing to show up.
Today we celebrate that strength — in all its forms.

Here’s to women — and to raising the next generation to know their worth ✨

No matter what walks into the room — curiosity, anxiety, tears, anger — it’s all welcome here.

You don’t have to edit yourself before session.
You don’t have to make it make sense.

However you arrive, I’ll meet you where you’re at - and together we’ll gently untangle what’s coming up and move toward the goals that matter most to you 💛

Listening to take us into her brain, I couldn’t help but think: this is therapy language.

She speaks about journaling not just to vent, but to shape her thinking. And when she says, “I can control what I think,” she’s describing the heart of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy — recognizing that while we can’t control everything around us, we can learn to work with our thoughts and reframe how we feel and behave.

That’s neuroplasticity. The brain can rewire. We can practice new patterns.

As an Asian counsellor, it’s powerful to see an Asian woman normalize mental training alongside achievement. The inner work matters.

If you’re ready to build a different relationship with your thoughts, this is work we can do together.

Same you, new year — and if you’re ready, we can do this differently.

It’s not about changing who you are. It’s about clarifying what matters and taking small steps toward the life you want.

No resolutions. No pressure.
You don’t have to start over to move forward.

The holidays can bring up many different experiences — joy, stress, nostalgia, pressure, grief, or complicated family dynamics.
There’s no “right” way to feel this season, and your experience doesn’t need to match anyone else’s.

Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stretched thin as a parent, navigating early adulthood, or simply not loving the holidays — you’re not alone.

I hope these small tips offer permission, grounding, and gentleness as you move through the next few weeks.

😮‍💨 One of my favourite grounding tools. Whether I’m feeling frustrated and need a moment before responding, or I actually find a rare pause to reset and be mindful - Box Breathing always brings me back to centre.

I hope it helps you, too. And don’t be surprised if we weave it into a session together 😉

A soft reminder for today:
Not everything is yours to carry.
What you can control ➡️ tend to it.
What you can’t ➡️ release it.

A behind-the-scenes look at virtual sessions. Counsellor by trade. Engineer by necessity 😅

Jokes aside, virtual counselling is less about the setup and more about the connection. Whether it’s a sturdy desk or a woven basket with some books, my focus is on providing support…and my faith in my leaning tower of laptop 😉✨

Today is World Kindness Day 💛

A little reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be big or loud to matter.

It can look like taking a breath before reacting, sending a quick “thinking of you” text, holding the door open for a stranger, or speaking gently to yourself when you’d normally be critical.

Kindness heals — and it starts small.
