Listening to take us into her brain, I couldn’t help but think: this is therapy language.
She speaks about journaling not just to vent, but to shape her thinking. And when she says, “I can control what I think,” she’s describing the heart of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy — recognizing that while we can’t control everything around us, we can learn to work with our thoughts and reframe how we feel and behave.
That’s neuroplasticity. The brain can rewire. We can practice new patterns.
As an Asian counsellor, it’s powerful to see an Asian woman normalize mental training alongside achievement. The inner work matters.
