For those living with Parkinson’s disease, exercise is more than just staying active — it’s a key part of managing symptoms.

Regular movement can help improve balance, mobility, strength, mood, and overall quality of life, and may even help slow the progression of symptoms.

But the benefits begin long before diagnosis. Building a habit of exercise earlier in life can support brain health, resilience, and overall function, helping the body better cope with challenges if they arise.

Locally, Parkinson Society Newfoundland and Labrador (PSNL) offers a wonderful support group in Corner Brook, with a variety of exercise programs, guest speakers, and educational workshops for individuals and their carers.

Just a little reminder that tomorrow’s general Chair Yoga class (March 31st at 2:15 pm) will be the last one until the fall! If you’ve been thinking about coming out, this is the perfect time to join us.

It’s a welcoming, gentle class—great for all levels—and a wonderful way to move, breathe, and lift your spirits.

I shared this reflection in my yoga classes yesterday, and it seemed to land gently with quite a few people. Sometimes it helps to be reminded that all parts of life—the highs, the lows, and everything in between—belong.

I’M A BIG FAN OF WOMEN

I’m a big fan of women who snort when they laugh.
Women who overshare awkward truths when the conversation stalls.
I’m a big believer in singing loudly in the car whenever possible and I love pulling alongside a fellow diva doing the same.
I’m a big fan of women who love women,
who spot loo roll on the shoes and help each other out,
when Mother Nature calls.
I’m a huge believer in comparison being the thief of joy,
that dimming someone else’s light, won’t ever make yours shine brighter.
I just can’t get enough of those women who are unashamedly themselves, in technicolour glory.
I’m a lover of laughter and those moments when the tears start to flow, give me life.
I think the best therapy, is quality time with a friend who listens without judgement.
I’m a big fan of women who break, who share,
who rebuild each other and cheer them along the way.
I’m grateful for this world half-full of fabulous females,
I see you all.

Thank you to everyone who joined chair yoga classes yesterday. My heart is so full for such a turnout despite in these bone chilling temperatures.

In times that feel uncertain, creating moments of peace matters. Yoga, in any form, offers that space—to breathe with intention, settle the mind, and calm the nervous system.
