At Carefor we are so fortunate to work with so many incredible caregivers. Your commitment, effort and love are the backbone of our healthcare system. You are far too underrecognized for how important you are and we are honoured to be able to provide you some support and comfort in your efforts to keep your loved ones at home with you.

From all of us at Carefor, Happy National Caregiver Day!

March for Meals Continues!

We’re grateful to our amazing community champions who stepped up to support our meal delivery program. Stephanie Young, Recreation Supervisor for the Township of North Dundas, joined her father, long-time volunteer John Ralko, to deliver the Wi******er route, what a wonderful way to give back together.

Debbie Westenbroek also teamed up with Tara Hart, a local business owner who provides in-home support to seniors and individuals with disabilities, to cover the South Mountain route.

Thank you for helping keep our community connected, one meal at a time.

March is Fraud Protection Month and is a reminder for seniors to remain vigilant in protecting themselves against possible scams.

Unfortunately scams to part seniors from their money are becoming more frequent and sophisticated meaning that seniors need to be more cautious when dealing with those who approach them.

While many of us remember a time where you could trust those around you, the internet is offering access to you by people around the globe, many of whom don't have your best interest at heart.

The Government of Canada has created this useful guide on ways to protect yourself from scams.

Behind every meal is a team putting it together. Each person along the chain knows how important that meal is to the person who receives it. From our cooks Brenda Guichet and Heather Gauthier to the drivers Judy and Ed, we are proud to help bring connection and nutrition to those in need. Our client Marguerite was happy to receive a hot cooked meal from a champion for our March for Meals campaign, Julie,

By volunteering or donating you, too, can be part of our chain of kindness.

We were so proud to have some incredible volunteers join us for March for Meals.

A special thank you to our celebrity volunteers, Julie Magny and Jehu Bondol, who recently moved to our community from Cameroon. Julie is a PSW at Dundas Manor, and Jehu, who has a true passion for serving others is currently seeking opportunities while getting to know the community. Volunteering with March for Meals was the perfect fit, and we’re so grateful they chose to spend their time giving back.

We’d also like to recognize our amazing Carefor volunteers, Hans Peter and Tara Fawcett, whose continued dedication helps make this program possible.

Together, you are making a meaningful difference, one delivery at a time.

What a meal means:
- nutrition
- connection
- a check in
- reassurance for family members
- being able to age at home

With your support, we can bring meals to more seniors in our community helping them get the nutrition they need, feel connected and make sure they're able to continue to age at home.

What does a meal mean to you? For seniors like Corrie in our community it means nutrition and a moment of connection.

During March for Meals, we are welcoming support for our meal delivery program so we can help ensure Corrie and seniors like her are getting nutrition and are being checked in on.

You can help us feed those who have fed us. If you can, please lend your support: https://carefor.ca/donate-eastern-counties/
