With the holiday season here, the Therapy Dogs want to share heartfelt thanks to everyone across Cornwall, SDG, Prescott, and Russell who has welcomed them so warmly. This year has been full of special connections — a gentle nuzzle melting away stress, a wagging tail lifting a long day, a quiet presence bringing comfort when words couldn’t. These small, joyful moments have grown into something truly meaningful. Together, we’ve created a circle of kindness, one visit, one smile, one paw at a time. From all of us — two‑legged and four‑legged — we wish you a peaceful, joyful, and love‑filled Christmas, and hope the season brings you the same warmth and companionship you’ve shared all year.

Our Featured Therapy Dog for December is Magna and her Handler Diane. Magna is a gentle soul who loves to meet people. They visit in Hawkesbury area at the Oasis Centre and soon to be at the Prescott Russell Residence. Magna is a Collie mix and is approximately 5 1/2 years old

Magna came to Canada in October 2021, rescued from Beruit, Lebanon. When she was picked up from the airport she weighed only 17 kilos (she now weighs 25!). Right from the get go
Magna was seen as a quiet, shy, docile dog. Within a month of being with her handler Diane, Magna started playing with other dogs at the park and learning what a ball was although to this day really shows little interest,

Magna loves the attention she gets on her Therapy Dog visits and has learned what it means when Diane mentions "go visit". She immediately goes to the nearest person, tail wagging and nudging with her nose to make sure they know she is there. She loves the days Diane pulls out her Therapy Dog bandana.

Everyone who meets Magna falls in love with her. She comes to work with Diane every day and is indeed, a therapy dog there as well, even without her bandana 🙂

Magna is also the mascot for the local Distillery near Hawkesbury and is often ‘tagged’ on their page.

Say Hello to Molly

Molly is the sweetest little bundle of love we could ask for!

Her favorite words are "cookie"..... "go for walk" .... and "squeak". Her favorite toys are any that actually squeak and all I need to do is tell her to go find squeak and she does!

She definitely has a lot of energy at 3.5 yrs old and loves spending time in the backyard chasing squirrels or just doing zoomies. After that she is good to just lay on the couch or bed and relax.

She always gets sooooo excited when I take out her leash and especially when I get her SJA bandana. She can't stand still and is so anxious to go see her friends at SunSet Cove.

I do think her favorite "toys" are her humans 🙂. As long as she can be with us she is happy!
