My journey into Acupuncture actually did not begin with acupuncture.

When I was a massage provider in 2010, my coworker was a registered acupuncturist.
He introduced me to his Qi Gong teacher and that's when it all changed. When I started practicing qi gong and tai Chi I Instantly started feeling more grounded and connected with my own body In a way that I felt really good about.

When I began to learn about the philosophy of chinese medicine, that is when I realized I wanted to become an acupuncturist.

I loved The approach of looking at the body as an integrated whole where the mind, body and spirit are connected.

I love looking at the emergent properties of the person as a whole, instead of the individual parts.

I loved the idea of a healthcare model which focuses on keeping people healthy instead of fixing them after they get sick.

Today, my favorite part of practicing acupuncture is helping people get support with stress and inflammation related issues because I find they really respond well to acupuncture treatment. I also love being able to invite people out into nature by having our clinic on our medicinal herb farm in Royston BC.

🍻Traditionally beer was used as a medicine.⁣. Barley malt is used in Chinese medicine to support digestion and hops is a well known herbal remedy commonly found in beer. In the past, a wide variety of medicinal bitters were used to flavour beer, including mugwort and wormwood.
⁣
🫖This course was a part of Tristan’s journey to curate locally grown medicinal products. Tristan is hoping to apply the business skills he learned to making delicious herbal remedies and other healing products from the plant medicine we collect on the farm. ⁣
