The Institute of Neurodiversity is a global organization with a Canadian contingent that will continue to grow.

Neurodiversity knows no bounds - it crosses all cultures, religions, ethnicities, genders, sexual identities, races, and every social and economic status.

The need for support and accommodations varies greatly within the vast group of neurodivergent folk. Recognition of the challenges and strengths with an accepting and inclusive perspective is crucial. Advocating for support and opportunities to work and learn and participate in our communities is something we need to do together.

Love is letting go of fear.
And worry.
How do we do that when we learned
& came to believe
that worrying IS love?
Worrying about and being afraid for someone is understandable.
But it doesn’t help.
It only hurts us and strains our relationships due to OUR tension caused by OUR fear.

Even if we see evidence all around that we have reason to be afraid that our loved one is on a dangerous path,
if they don’t want our help (and even id they do), choose love over fear.

How’s that going to help?

It’s going to keep you open to helping yourself.
It’s going to keep you open to loving your loved one without expecting them to DO anything.
It’s going to open your heart and mind to enjoying what IS good and beautiful in THIS day, THIS moment.

We can’t have healthy relationships with unhealthy people.
We can actively engage in our own healing.
We can learn to let go and detach with love.
It’s not easy to accept the things we cannot change but we can and we must if the relationship is poison.

Simple wisdom in truth in a tea cup.
Remaining open to receiving the good that the world has to offer, we find plenty. What stops us from looking, seeing, creating a peace filled life? What stops you?

Having the courage to discover, uncover and release limiting beliefs is liberating and wondrous.

I love working with the energy of emotions, the scale of consciousness, and helping people reconnect with light, peace and love. Therapy can take many forms. I love having a mixed, eclectic selection of techniques from traditional CBT to holistic, energy psychology approaches.

There is a way for each of us to break free from the ties that bind us.

Look for openings.
Listen to your intuition and gentle nudges.

If you ask 100 therapists if they like marketing themselves, 99 will probably say they hate it. Me? It melts my brain. What do you want to know about me? What do I want you to know about me? I’m a real person who’s worked through real stuff, far worse than dumping an entire box of spaghetti on the floor. I have a sense of humour, a huge heart, I’m a good problem solver and I am here for deep transformative work and for brief consultations as a therapist. I figure my job is to show up as myself in “marketing” because that’s how I show up in my office. That allows you to show up as your self with all the feels, or the numbness (which is a feeling, too).

I don’t want to melt my brain on Instagram. I want to have some fun finding the people who would truly benefit from working with me, because when I found the people who could hold space for me, my whole world changed for the better.

In wake of the recent tragic events at the Lapu Lapu Festival in Vancouver, the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) is offering a free public webinar – ‘Caring for Ourselves & our Communities after Tragic Loss’ to help individuals navigate their emotions and support each other through this difficult time.
The one-hour webinar will explore various approaches - whether individuals are looking for ways to talk to children about what’s happened or hoping for ideas to manage feelings of worry or overwhelm.

Healing emotional pain takes courage and a willingness to allow yourself to be vulnerable. This work can be difficult but it is always worth it. I’ve created this account to help you find the right therapist to guide you through your challenges. Persevere and holding onto hope.

This is me, Tara. I’ve been a therapist for over 12 years and I’ve had the honour of working with people from the very young to those in their 80s. I love what I do, which is helping people navigate tough stuff, whether it’s for a one-time consultation or deep work.

I don’t work at the beach 😉, but I do offer tools and techniques for emotional healing, grounding, and positive transformation for individuals (ages 14+), couples, and parents.

I have a lovely office in downtown Courtenay. I would love to meet you there. Book your free appointment today. 😊
