Huxham Contracting Limited is a locally-owned and operated excavation and construction company specializing in site preparation, utility work, and material hauling. We take pride in maintaining a reliable fleet of dump trucks, excavators, and other heavy equipment to deliver quality work on time.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of our fleet of construction vehicles and equipment. This is a hands-on role for someone who is motivated, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities:
• Perform routine maintenance on trucks, excavators, and other heavy equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections and ensure equipment meets safety standards
• Maintain accurate service records and reports
• Work independently or as part of a team to ensure equipment is job-ready
• Respond to emergency repair needs on-site when required

Qualifications:
• Red seal Heavy duty Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical systems
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and follow technical manuals
• Valid driver’s license (Class 1 a plus)
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred:
• Vocational training or certifications in diesel technology or related fields
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety compliance
