We are excited to introduce two new therapists who have joined the Brightside Team! โ
First up is Grace Atkinson, a registered counselling therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. She holds a Bachelor of Education from Burman University and obtained a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. Before entering private practice, Grace worked as an elementary school teacher and in community-based roles spanning education, non-profit work, and crisis support - experiences that continue to shape her grounded, steady presence in the therapy room.
Grace works with children (ages 6 and up), teens, and adults who are navigating the impacts of trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioural concerns, emotional regulation, life transitions, anger and conflict management, career burnout, self-esteem, shame, and relationship concerns.
She takes a relaxed and personal approach, using intuition and humour to connect first to the client before drawing from evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing, Play Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
She is deeply committed to creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their core values with self-compassion and move toward meaningful change.
