We are also looking for Volunteers to help some of our Seniors get to appointments and grocery shopping.

BC Brain Wellness is excited to introduce "Care Partners Preparedness Course: Building Skills While Making Connections", a new program for caregivers taking place every Monday in November. Please remember the seniors in your life and in your neighborhood during this heat wave. Please check in on them and make sure they are not suffering in the heat. Please remind them to drink plenty of water and that cold water on the wrists can help cool a person down a bit. (Bring them some watermelon!) Encourage them to spend time in the basement if possible as it is usually cooler in a basement. Let's all get through the heat as safely as possible. Please share this post so we can reach as many people as possible!

We were so pleased last week to welcome Lee and Shawn as they came in to represent Tourmaline Oil Corp and presented the Dawson Creek Better at Home program with a cheque for $5,000. And, to top it off, Mike Rose, President of the company sent along a personal donation of $2,000. We are so grateful for the kindness and generosity of this company! This donation will go a long way towards providing vital services to local seniors.

We're looking for a special kind of volunteer. Someone who can size up a task and give us an idea of what is needed to complete it, time, supplies, equipment, etc... For projects from fixing a fence to diagnosing what's needed to fix a pellet stove. What we're looking for is expertise - you don't have to do the job, just let us know how to go about it and what we'll need or if it's a job that should be done by a professional. So what we're looking for are handy kinda guys and gals with the experience and knowledge to advise us.
