We're so grateful to hear a part of S's story, and how funding from the Step Forward Program helped her on her journey to healing. 💙

Thank you, S!

We are incredibly grateful to the Delta Community Foundation for their generous financial support 💙
This funding allows Step Forward Health Society to continue and expand our mental health support group for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, while also beginning to offer meaningful support for their families. North and South Delta have unique needs, and this grant helps us thoughtfully tailor our programs to serve both communities with care and intention.
Thank you for continuing to support this program and believing in inclusive, community-rooted mental health support and helping us create safer, more affirming spaces for youth and families across Delta 🌈✨

📣 Leadership Announcement: Step Forward Health Society Welcomes New Executive Director
We’re thrilled to introduce Jack O’Halloran as the new Executive Director of the Step Forward Health Society!

We’re beyond excited to have Jack on board. Jack shares, “I’m honoured to join an organization doing such vital and meaningful work. Step Forward Health Society has built a strong foundation of trust and impact. I’m excited to work alongside the Board and partners to expand our reach, strengthen community partnerships, and improve access to high-quality mental health support for those who need it most.”
✨ What’s Ahead in 2026?

Warm Holiday Wishes from Step Forward Health Society ✨
As the holiday season arrives, we want to send warmth and care to everyone in our community. We know that this time of year can bring joy for some, but it can also be heavy, lonely, or difficult for others—and all of those feelings are real and deserving of care.
If the holidays are hard for you, please know you’re not alone. Your experiences matter, and support matters.
As we look ahead to the new year, we hold space for hope: hope for gentler days, stronger connections, better access to care, and moments of light—even small ones—that help us keep moving forward.
From all of us at Step Forward Health Society, we’re wishing you compassion, rest, and hope as we step into the year ahead together. 🤍

As we head into the holidays, we're all too aware that abuse and violence in homes does not take a break. At Step Forward Health Society, we're committed to creating safety, and supporting change in homes experiencing abuse and violence.

We're here to support women who have experience, or believe they may be experiencing abuse or violence through our free When Love Hurts Program that provides education, support, and community to women who often feel completely alone in their pain.

We're also here to support men who recognize they are behaving in abusive ways in their relationships and want to make changes through our low-cost MenTOR program. MenTOR is an opportunity for men to transform themselves and transform the ways they behave in relationships through education, support, and community.

We're looking to launch our next groups in February and we're taking referrals now. Once we receive the referral, our community partner, Alongside You will reach out to get you connected.

As we're heading into the holidays, our team will be away from Dec 24 - Jan 5 but we will connect with you as soon as possible when we return.

As Giving Tuesday comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the stories of courage and hope that your generosity makes possible.

Reaching out for help takes bravery, and when someone finally takes that step, we want to be ready to say YES.

YES to affordable counselling.
YES to a listening ear.
YES to hope.

Your support tonight helps us continue to:

💚 Provide 300+ hours of subsidized counselling each year
🏳️‍🌈 Create safe spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth
💜 Support women recovering from abuse through When Love Hurts
🎨 Foster creative healing through Pain in the Arts
👥 Equip men to build healthier relationships
⚽ Normalize positive mental health in youth sports

The need is growing and we can’t meet it without you.

Would you join us on our mission by donating before midnight to make a real difference for someone ready to take their next step forward?

Every gift, no matter the size, ensures that no one faces their mental health journey alone.

Thank you for standing with those who depend on accessible care.

Today is Giving Tuesday, and in the spirit of the day, we want to give something back to you, and to anyone in your life who may be struggling.

We just released our newest blog post, “How to Access Low-Cost Counselling in Your Community.”

With counselling costs in our region averaging over $150 per hour, too many people feel they have nowhere to turn. But help should be within reach.

Our latest post walks through:

* How to find affordable mental health support in your community
* What low-cost and subsidized options look like
* How Step Forward makes counselling accessible for those who need it most

Read the blog:

On this Giving Tuesday, we’re committed to ensuring that no one is left without support because of financial strain.

Your generosity today makes counselling affordable, keeps people connected, and helps families heal.

Life can feel like a juggling act. Between work, school, relationships, and simply keeping yourself afloat, it’s easy to slip into a place where everything feels heavier than it should. For 1 in 4 Canadians, that weight becomes too much to carry alone.

When mental health care feels financially out of reach, people often push their needs aside—sometimes until it’s too late. That’s exactly why Step Forward exists: to remove the financial barrier and make healing accessible, compassionate, and stigma-free.

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, and we’re inviting you to help someone take their next step forward.

A gift of $67 provides one counselling session at half the typical cost, a lifeline for someone who is struggling and unsure where to turn. Your support makes it possible for people in crisis to receive help without having to choose between their mental health and their finances.

Mental health recovery is a lifelong journey. This Giving Tuesday, you can be the reason someone starts theirs with hope.

💚 Thank you for standing with us.

✨ Holiday Cards for a Cause ✨
For many people, the holiday season brings a mix of joy and heaviness. It can be a time of loneliness, financial stress, grief, or emotional overwhelm. When we come together as a community, we have the chance to extend hope, care, and connection to those who are struggling — and that’s exactly what your support makes possible.
By choosing our limited-edition Holiday Cards this year, you’re giving more than a beautiful card. You’re helping ensure that someone in our community can access the support they need through our accessible, no-cost, and low-cost mental-health programs. You’re offering a reminder that compassion matters and that no one should have to navigate difficult seasons alone. These cards feature two original designs by artist and Step Forward Health Society President, Meg Neufeld “Wreath of Hope” and “Winter’s Bright Hope.”
Each pack includes 4 cards (2 of each design) for $27 + GST, with 100% of proceeds directly supporting individuals and families accessing mental-health care.
Pick up your cards in person at Alongside You during business hours (10 am to 5 pm).
Spread warmth. Share hope. Give the gift of mental health this season. 💛
