I have been experimenting with reusing the filament purge/waste from my 3D printers, specifically from the purged materials when printing multi coloured objects on my Bambu Labs A1 and A1 mini.
This is one example of turning waste plastic into a functional product . (At least for me, personally)

While I've never really thought too much about 3D printing miniatures, I have to say I'm really amazed at how many amazing models are out there.
I think I may use this as a means to further dialing in my printers.
