Hello Loves ✨ As I was scrolling down memory lane, I came across this picture of my daughter perfectly displaying early feeding cues.

Identifying feeding cues early can take the guesswork out of soothing a baby. When we know exactly what a baby needs, we can more easily satisfy their needs without breaking a sweat.

Here are a few feeding cues to look out for:

🤍 **Early Feeding Cues**
- Rooting (turning head towards a breast or bottle when cheek is stroked) 🌸
- Making sucking noises 👶
- Bringing hands to mouth 👐

🤍 **Mid Feeding Cues**
- Fussing 😣
- Whining 😖

🤍 **Late Feeding Cues**
- Crying 😢

🤍 **Fullness Cues**
- Turning away from the breast or bottle 🚫
- Slowing down sucking 💤
- Falling asleep 😴

As always, don’t hesitate to text or DM me if you have any questions.

Warmly,

Your doula, Tracy 🫶🏿

It is always a blessing to be welcomed into the homes & hearts of the families I work with. Recently I have been thinking of unspoken ways mothers safeguard their families:

💡Intuition: A mother’s intuition is a powerful force, finely tuned to the needs and emotions of her children. It’s that unexplainable knowing when something isn’t quite right, or when a child needs comforting words even before they ask. This intuition guides decisions and actions, ensuring the safety and well-being of her family.

🤲Safe Haven : Home is not just a physical space but a sanctuary where mothers cultivate a sense of security. Through warmth, acceptance, and unwavering support, they create an environment where family members can be themselves without fear of judgment or harm. This safe haven nurtures emotional resilience and fosters strong bonds.

❤️‍🩹Resillience : Mothers instill resilience by their example, facing challenges with determination and grace. They teach values through everyday actions—kindness, empathy, honesty—that shape the character of their children and prepare them to navigate life’s complexities.

🤍Unconditional Love : A mother’s love is a healing balm, capable of soothing wounds and easing fears. Whether through a gentle touch, words of encouragement, or simply being present, mothers provide emotional support that strengthens their family’s spirit during difficult times.

🦋Harmony: Mothers often play a pivotal role in maintaining harmony within the family. They mediate conflicts, encourage open communication, and nurture empathy among siblings. Their ability to listen without judgment and offer perspective helps resolve disagreements and strengthen familial bonds.

Their influence extends far beyond words and gestures, leaving an impactful mark on the hearts and souls of those they cherish most.

My daughter often asks where I am going before I leave.
When I’m on my way to see a client, I simply tell her, ‘Mommy is going to go help another mommy for a little bit.’
This simple statement rings true and resonates deeply within myself.

Beyond all my certifications, trainings, and experiences, my focus as every single visit is to help mothers.

So, thank you to all my clients, clients turned friends, and friends turned clients for accepting my help. I am in awe and blessed every day that I get to do this work thanks to you. ✨ ____________________________________

Practicing mindfulness during pregnancy and the postpartum period can significantly enhance a mother’s well-being and overall experience 🌼.

Mindfulness involves staying present and fully engaging with the current moment, which can help manage the physical and emotional challenges that arise during these transformative times 🌿.

Research shows that mindfulness can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, which are common during pregnancy and postpartum. A study published in “BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth” found that women who participated in a mindfulness-based program experienced a 20% reduction in anxiety and a 24% reduction in depressive symptoms 📉.

Moreover, mindfulness practices can improve sleep quality 💤, decrease stress levels, and enhance emotional regulation, leading to a more positive pregnancy and postpartum experience 💖.

By making mindfulness a part of daily routines, moms can navigate this special time with greater ease and joy, setting a foundation for a positive and nurturing parenting journey 🌈.

Embracing mindfulness not only benefits mental and emotional health but also promotes a calm and supportive environment for the baby, fostering a deeper connection and healthier development from the very start 🌟.

As your doula, I am also a certified mindfulness practitioner, ready to guide you through these practices to ensure you and your baby thrive during this precious time.🫶🏿

The placenta holds significant spiritual symbolism in many cultures and belief systems. Here are a few aspects of its spiritual significance:

Connection to Life and Creation: In various spiritual traditions, the placenta symbolizes the connection between life, birth, and creation. It’s seen as a vessel of nourishment and life force for the developing baby in the womb.

Sacredness and Respect: Many cultures view the placenta as sacred and deserving of respect. It’s often treated with rituals, ceremonies, and special handling to honor its role in the birth process.

Connection to Ancestry: In some cultures, the placenta is believed to carry ancestral spirits or memories, connecting the newborn to their lineage and heritage. Burying the placenta in a specific location can symbolize this connection to ancestors and land.

Physical and Spiritual Protection: The placenta is sometimes seen as providing physical and spiritual protection for the baby during pregnancy and childbirth. Rituals involving the placenta may be performed to invoke blessings and safeguard the child’s well-being.

Cycle of Life and Renewal: Some spiritual beliefs view the placenta as part of the cycle of life and renewal. Its burial or planting may symbolize returning it to the earth to nourish new growth, representing the continuity of life and the interconnectedness of all living beings. Art by

Here’s my full-proof recipe for baked oats! My favorite part about this recipe is that it can be altered to add things like chocolate chips and jam, as shown in this picture.

🤍Benefits of Oats in Breastfeeding🤍:

Nutrient-Rich: Packed with iron, calcium, and B vitamins, essential for mother and baby’s health.
Fiber: Supports digestion, prevents constipation, common during breastfeeding.
Boosts Milk Supply: Compounds like saponins and beta-glucan stimulate milk production.
Energy Boost: Provides slow-release carbs, sustaining energy levels.
Stress Reduction: Calming properties help reduce anxiety, promoting relaxation.
Healthy Fats: Omega-3 fatty acids support infant brain development.

Baked Oats Recipe
Ingredients:

1 cup rolled oats
1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or individual ramekins.
Mix milk, maple syrup/honey, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
Add oats, baking powder, and salt. Stir until combined.
Pour mixture into prepared dish/ramekins.
Bake for 25-30 mins until set and golden brown.
Cool slightly before serving.

In the whirlwind of postpartum life, support often transcends the conventional.

It’s not just about bringing meals or offering a helping hand; it’s about embracing the unexpected tasks that arise in the journey of parenthood.

It involves emotional scaffolding, holding space for the rollercoaster of feelings that come with welcoming a new life.

Whether it’s stepping in to watch the baby while the exhausted parents steal a brief nap or simply being a steady presence amidst the chaos, these gestures of support form the backbone of the postpartum experience.

“It takes a village to raise a child” is a timeless adage that speaks to the importance of community in nurturing and supporting the growth of children.
In today’s fast-paced world, where families are often scattered and communities may feel disconnected, the concept of creating your own village takes on added significance.

Building a village around a child involves intentionally cultivating a network of support that extends beyond immediate family members.

This could include friends, neighbors, teachers, coaches, mentors, and other trusted individuals who play a role in the child’s life.

Creating your village is about recognizing the strengths and resources of those around you and inviting them to contribute to the well-being and development of your child.

Each person in the village brings unique perspectives, skills, and experiences that enrich the child’s upbringing. Whether it’s providing emotional support during challenging times, sharing wisdom and guidance, or simply offering a listening ear, every member of the village plays a valuable role in shaping the child’s journey.

As your doula, I would be honored to be a part of your village. Doula support extends beyond the birth experience to encompass the early stages of parenting and beyond. As a trusted ally, I can offer assistance, encouragement, and knowledge to help navigate the joys and challenges of raising a child.

Whether it’s providing breastfeeding support, offering guidance on infant care, or simply being a reassuring presence during times of uncertainty, I am committed to walking alongside you as you nurture and raise your child.

Definition behind the my brand name . Bobóto in my native language Lingala means peace and kindness. Though I have lost me mother tongue ,when I hear it spoken it brings happiness & comfort and familiarity. It reminds me of home and my grandmothers warmth. As a doula I wanted to bring that same warmth and kindness to all me clients as accompany them through the world of birth and postpartum.

Whether this is your first or sixth baby, the postpartum period is a major time of transition for you, your body, and your whole family. This period of time is often called the fourth trimester, and for good reason!

Whereas a birth doula provides support during the actual labor and birth, a postpartum doula provides non-medical support in these important days and weeks following delivery.

This support is emotional and physical, as well as informational. And while the doula does help with infant care, a postpartum doulas primary focus is on the mother and her family. The International Childbirth Education Association describes the role as “mothering the mother.”
