Some of the herbs I grow are calendula, chamomile, comfrey, selfheal, blue vervain, meadowsweet, mugwort, motherwort and many more. As we walk through the garden I can give you tips on how to grow your own. 1 hour walk is $60 plus you will be able to take home a plant or harvest some herbs. 🌿🐞 Felt a strong calling to go into the woods today. A fallen poplar tree gifted me some beautiful smelling poplar buds. So much Gratitude for those gifts! I infuse the poplar buds in oil and use it in my chest rubs, foot balms & my forest oil. I also had the honor to see some ladybugs. 🐞🌿

The warmth of summertime beckons us back into the arms of Mother Nature and her many beautiful beings. So as we all begin spending more and more time soaking in the delights of the season, I wanted to share my recipe for a Natural Insect Repellent. Enjoy!

Note: 1/8 tsp is approximately 12 drops; 1/4 tsp is approximately 24 drops. Do NOT use this on children under 3 years of age.

Happy ! Here's my recipe for Herbal Hot Cocoa... Get out your saucepan and favorite mug, and enjoy!

Ingredients:
Milk of your choice - I used local full-fat cow milk- 1 1/2 cups
Pure - about 1 1/2 tablespoon grated
Cinnamon- about 1/2 teaspoon powder or grated bark
Turmeric Powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Chunky honey - 1 teaspoon

Method:
Simmer on very low, stirring ingredients until hot. You can add honey right away
Or just before serving. I keep the spoon in the mug, so I can stir occasionally while drinking. All amounts can be adjusted to your taste.

Optional Ingredients:
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla extract or 1/3rd bean, sliced open and scraped.
A dash of grated nutmeg
Rose petal honey

❄️ Winter Wellness Cordial Recipe ❄️

This Douglas fir conifer cordial recipe will help to stimulate and support the immune system with contributions from elderberries and vitamin C-rich Douglas fir tips and rose hips.

INGREDIENTS
⅔ cup whole dried elder (Sambucus nigra) berries
½ cup fresh rose (Rosa spp.) hips (or ⅓ cup dried)
½ cup fresh Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) tips (or ⅓ cup dried)
1 cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) stick
4 cups brandy (or enough to fill jar)
Sweetener of choice, such as honey or maple syrup

DIRECTIONS
Prepare the ingredients by finely chopping fresh herbs with a knife or grinding dried herbs using a mortar and pestle.
Fill a clean glass canning jar with the herbal ingredients.
Pour the alcohol over the herbs, covering them by at least 2 inches of alcohol.
Put a lid on the jar, label it with the contents and date, and store in a cool, dark place to infuse for 1 month. Check it every few days, give it a shake, and make sure that the ingredients remain covered by the alcohol, and if they are not, add more alcohol until they are covered.
After 1 month, strain the ingredients into a new, clean jar using layered cheesecloth, a muslin cloth, or a fine wire sieve. Compost the used herbs.
Traditionally, ½ part sweetener is added to 1 part tincture to make a cordial. Measure the volume of the tincture and combine with add half that amount of sweetener. You may use honey, herb-infused honey, maple syrup, rice syrup, or make your own simple syrup. Stir to combine.
Store in a tightly sealed bottle or jar in a cool, dark place.
