What does impact look like five years later? It looks like steady member growth, and a strong voice for chiropractic care in Alberta.

Over the past five years, our Board of Directors has played a key role in advancing MSK care and strengthening advocacy through initiatives such as Hill Day, direct engagement with the Government of Alberta, member forums held across the province, and participation in national leadership summits.

These efforts have helped elevate the profession, support members, and strengthen relationships with government and national partners. We are grateful for the Board’s leadership, collaboration, and commitment to evidence-based care. Their work has helped position the Association for continued progress and a strong, future focused path for chiropractic care in Alberta.

Thank you to 880 CHED for hosting our Chair, Dr. Boyd, on Talk to the Experts this past Saturday.

The discussion focused on how access to care, regular movement, and welcoming community spaces all play an important role in helping seniors maintain mobility, balance, and independence as they age. These factors work together to support confidence in daily activities and overall quality of life. Evidence-based chiropractic care supports safe movement and functional ability at every stage of life, particularly for older adults managing musculoskeletal health. Alberta chiropractors provide regulated, patient-centered care grounded in research and safety.

We are proud to be part of conversation that help Albertans stay move well and age well. To hear the full interview, visit the CHED Audio Vault for May 9 at 12:00pm.

This is what collective action looks like. In just a few years, Alberta chiropractors have come together to drive meaningful policy change, advance innovation in care delivery, and help renew public investment in MSK health.

These achievements reflect a profession that is engaged, forward-thinking, and committed to long-term sustainability. Growth is not just about numbers. It is about building confidence, strengthening professional capacity, and creating opportunities to thrive within Alberta’s health system.

Together, we are shaping a future where every chiropractor has the opportunity to grow and succeed.

The Chiropractic Association of Alberta was proud to attend the National Tradeshow and Convention organized by the Canadian Chiropractic Association in Halifax, where Alberta had a strong and engaged presence.

We extend our sincere thanks to our national partners, the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association, for delivering a high quality and collaborative event. We are also grateful for the important research leadership from Canadian Chiropractic Research Foundation, which continues to inform evidence-based practice across the profession.

Seeing our strategic direction of trusted rehabilitation reflected nationally reinforces that Alberta chiropractors are well positioned to meet the needs of patients and the health system.

Pillar three of our Strategic Plan puts people first.

Through this month, our focus is on the real benefits members receive. We recognize the strong connection between mental and physical health, and the critical role this connection plays in professional sustainability and long-term wellbeing.

Supporting our members' health is not separate from supporting clinical excellence. It is essential to it. Our partnerships with trusted health resources, including Telus Health, reflect our commitment to caring for the whole practitioner.

These supports exist because our members' matter. Learn more about the health resources available by visiting the link below.

A great first day in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the National Convention and Tradeshow, organized by the Canadian Chiropractic Association. We were proud to participate in the leadership summit and research symposium with our Chair Dr. Jacqueline Boyd, Vice-Chair Dr. Elaine Screaton, and CEO Cecilia Bloxom.

It was inspiring to see Alberta research and the impact it continues to have across the profession. Dr. Kent Stuber shared work on SelfBack, a digital decision support system tailored to support self-management of low back pain Dr. Debbie Wright presented the Chiropractic Patient Incident Reporting and Learning System (CPiRLS), a confidential platform that supports patient safety and continuous learning. Thank you to Dr. Pierre Côté for the opportunity to connect and for his leadership in shaping the upcoming Care‑First automobile insurance reform.

Together, these initiatives demonstrate the strength of Alberta led research and its contribution to advancing musculoskeletal health, patient safety, and high-quality chiropractic care across Canada.

Evidence-based care is not about doing more. It is about doing what matters most.

Dr. Natalie Carrington has shared how engaging with current musculoskeletal research challenged her assumptions and reshaped how she assesses progress, communicates with patients, and measure outcomes in practice.

Applying evidence helped her make more confident clinical decisions and supported clearer conversations about expectations and care planning. For Dr. Carrington, evidence-based care also strengthened patient trust and reinforced her professional identity as a regulated health professional committed to quality and accountability.

That is Pillar 2 of the Strategic Plan, which focuses on advancing evidence-based care to support safe, effective, and patient-centered chiropractic services. Research that informs practice helps deliver better care for Albertans.
