Easy way to focus on the present moment is to focus on your breath. Take a deep breath in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds. Exhale for 4 seconds and hold for 4 seconds. Do that 5 rounds. Just breathe and notice that for a moment in time nothing really matters, but your breath.

Let’s be real. Change can really suck, but there is always a silver lining to it, even when you are in the emotional trenches of it and feel like throwing in the towel. Life is the result of a series of changes from birth to death. Be it physical, emotional, career or relationship.

Change is inevitable and is synonymous with life and growth. And although change is inevitable, you can only change yourself and not the whole world. So let things move in a realistic flow that comes naturally for yourself, and for others.

If you were never forced into uncomfortable situations, you would never have your strength tested and overcome the things you never thought were possible. Oftentimes we don’t give ourselves enough credit for how strong we really are, until we are faced with something that shakes our entire core. Who you are, and how you show up for yourself during the toughest times of your life, reveals your resilience.

Life, the universe and everything which we see with our eyes is changing constantly. Change is life and if you want to live and enjoy then accept the change. Remember you can’t move forward if you are not willing to accept change.

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1/2 cup walnut pieces⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 1/4 inch piece fresh turmeric (or ¼ teaspoon ground) grated⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1/2 cup red onion chopped⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1/3 cup mushrooms chopped⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 1/2 cup cooked or 1 15-ounce BPA-free can or Tetra Pak salt-free black beans rinsed and drained⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 tablespoons tahini or almond butter⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1 teaspoon Savory Spice Blend

DIRECTIONS⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Preheat the oven to 375ºF. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pulse the oats, walnuts, and turmeric in a food processor until they are finely ground. Add the onion, mushrooms, beans, tahini, and flaxseeds and pulse until well combined. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse to mix well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pinch some of the mixture between your thumb and index finger to test whether it holds together. If the mixture is too wet, add more oats. If the mixture is too dry, add a little water, 1 tablespoon at a time. Transfer the mixture to a work surface and divide into four equal portions. Shape each into a patty about ½-inch thick and transfer to a plate. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper and arrange the burgers on it. Bake until hot and lightly browned, turning once, about 25 minutes. Serve hot, as desired.

Iyengar believed inversions allow the body to purge impurities, which facilitates strength, firmness, calmness and clarity of mind. In Ayervedic medicine, it is believed that impurities are held in the lower abdominal area and when you invert the body and raise your feet above your head, you allow gravity to move these impurities towards your digestive tract (just above the lower abdomen) and flushed out through the body.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Inversions also alter the flow of cerebral spinal fluid, and allow blood to drain from the lower body to allow fresh blood to cycle throughout the tissues and organs of the body, especially the brain. The nice thing is, it doesn’t have to be elaborate. Self-care is as easy as having a nice cup of tea in silence for 5 minutes, taking a yoga class (which is easier now than ever-you don’t even have to leave your home!), go for a walk, turn off your phone for 30 minutes, close your eyes and just breathe for 10 minutes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You do not It require special clothes or equipment to take care of yourself. The only thing you need to do is take the TIME to take care of yourself.
