Easy way to focus on the present moment is to focus on your breath. Take a deep breath in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds. Exhale for 4 seconds and hold for 4 seconds. Do that 5 rounds. Just breathe and notice that for a moment in time nothing really matters, but your breath.
