STUDY OF THE DAY: This open access study looked at the knees of 115 symptom-free sedentary adults and found that 97% of the knees examined via MRI showed some type of abnormality including meniscal tears. The authors emphasize the need for health professionals to base a diagnosis on a patient’s medical history and physical exam and not rely solely on imaging.

About Dr. Mutti

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Dr. Paul Mutti graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California, in 2005. He was also awarded his doctor of natural medicine by the Board of Natural Medicine Doctors & Practitioners–North America.

Upon graduation, Dr. Paul returned to the Capital Region, were he opened his first clinic, the award-winning Century Park Pain and Health, in South Edmonton. Over the next 10 years, he opened three more clinics: Refresh Health and Wellness in Sherwood Park, Dynamic Physiotherapy and Wellness Centre in Spruce Grove, and Beaumont Wellness Centre in Beaumont.

Dr. Paul has since opened two more clinics. In 2018, he merged and opened a clinic in Leduc (Willow Park Physiotherapy), and in 2019, he purchased a second Spruce Grove location: 360 Wellness.

He was one of the first persons to introduce spinal decompression in the region, a non-surgical, drug-free treatment that targets the source of spinal pain rather just the pain itself. In 2008, he founded Spinal Care Canada, extending spinal decompression services to locations throughout Alberta.
