Super excited about this upcoming project with The Branded Good & Forty Wink! I can't wait for everyone to see the collection!!

The next designer behind our soon-to-be-released Mother's Day Collection is stationary and home goods designer, Justine Ma: Design & Hand Lettering!

After graduating from the U of A with a Bachelor of Design, Justine worked at various agencies and studios here in Edmonton. She ended up branching out on her own turning her hobby into a stationery and home goods business. Justine is a self-taught calligrapher and has been teaching workshops since 2014. She sells her whimsical designs at shows, markets, select retailers and on her online shop.

"Everyday comes with it’s own level of anxiety and stress with the amount of work there is to get done and the “hustle” but I’ve realized quite quickly that there is no balance. I do what I can, when I can, with realistic timelines for me. I’m very lucky in that I don’t have a lot of client work, but even then, they are usually always so accommodating.

I’ve also found, by slowing down, I’ve created some of my best projects. Having Ruby home, always peeking at my computer, she’s given me feedback, always pumping me up and we’ve even created some great projects together out of it. Integrating work and life together has been a big part of my business. I’m so appreciative of this time we’ve had together."

We are coming up to one year in this pandemic 😱 One good thing to come out of spending more time at home was gardening! Mike built us some raised beds last Spring using leftover siding from our home addition and a new passion was born! 🌱 It saved me mentally. More plant babies to care for and get me and Ruby outside daily. All that hard work for like 15 carrots 🥕😂... I made a note to plant more carrots.

Out of that came these cutie garden markers! A great addition to any garden, check them out in my online shop! And if I’m missing something you’d like added to the list, let me know here!

Pleased to meet you! My name is Justine Ma and I'm the designer + hand letterer behind all the goodies you see on this site.

This business started after a lifetime passion of doodling and hand lettering and one really amazing silk screening workshop. An accidental stationer was created. I started selling my work at local markets and after a short while was able to take this business full time.

I currently live and work in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada along side my 4 year old project manager and my amazing husband/partner/carpenter extraordinaire.
