Your injuries don't diminish you. They educate you.

Breaking my back and pelvis. Tearing my shoulder. Neck injuries that wouldn't quit. For years I saw them as setbacks. Then I realized they were my greatest teachers.

Because when you've lived through what your clients are living through, you understand the real cost of recovery. Not just the physical work, but the mental fortitude it takes to show up day after day when your body feels like it's betraying you.

That's when I stopped settling for conventional rehab. I sought out physiotherapists and doctors who challenged me. I learned from them. And then I started developing my own way of working with people who've sustained significant injuries.

Real skill comes from real experience. From understanding what it actually takes to get someone back moving. Back to their horse. Back to the activities they love. Back to the life they want to be in.

Your injuries are not your limitation. They're your credential.

I didn't. And that choice changed everything.

Every fracture taught me something a textbook never could. Every surgery became data. Every setback became a skill I could only earn by living through it.

At 23, I made the decision to retire from riding. I truly believed I was hanging my hat up for good.

It was one of the hardest choices I had ever made. Riding shaped who I am. It taught me discipline, resilience, and strength. Walking away was not taken lightly, but at the time, it was the right decision because of significant injuries.

When I eventually returned, it surprised everyone, including me. What I found was not just a sport, but home.

Coming back to riding has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Being back in the ring, performing, and doing what I love reminds me every day how grateful I am to be here. I cannot imagine life without it now

Give this a try to see if you can hold your pelvis, body and hips still while you stay centred and balanced. It’s excellent for horse riders!
