Neuromodulators vs. Dermal Fillers: What’s the difference?
Neuromodulators (ex. botox)
Botox relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. It works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to the muscles, allowing the skin to smooth out and helping prevent wrinkles from becoming deeper. Results typically last 3–4 months.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers restore lost volume and support the skin using hyaluronic acid. They are ideal for deep wrinkles and volume loss in areas such as the cheeks and nasolabial folds. Results last 6–18 months, depending on the product and treatment area, and help plump, contour, and rejuvenate facial structure.
Botox = relax movement
Fillers = restore volume
