Howdy folks,

I am taking part in the worlds Longest Baseball Game coming up on August 29-September 2. We all know too well what cancer does and how it has hit us all close to home, if not ourselves. Some close to home currently dealing with it themselves, some spouses, other family members and friends. I personally just lost a buddy suddenly (10 days from diagnosis) a couple weeks ago it, so it was a no brainer to throw my name in the hat to battle for 4.5-5 days on a ball field. Since signing up I've heard even further stories of people currently battling somewhere close to home as well. If you have a story for me and someone you'd like me to keep in mind and honor while on the field, please reach out. I will put up any pictures sent as well (it actually helps a ton on hour 8 straight of ball in the middle of the night to keep battling). 780-993-1461

We've been asked to raise at least $3,000 each for the event. I know there is a million and 1 things to throw your support at but I think this one is well worth it and we need the support. I've posted the link to donate up top as you can see and also the link to the event website down below here so you can read about it and see where your donation would be going this year. One thing I love about this group is not one cent goes into any sort of cost to put it on or any operating cost or administration stuff. It cost us players to take part to pay for all the things we needed. I think that is pretty cool way to do it.

In February 2021, I have the honour of being 1 of 40 caring and courageous hockey players who will strap on their skates to challenge the Guinness World Record by playing in the 7th edition of the World’s Longest Hockey Game - all while making a difference for cancer patients right here in Alberta.

We will playing hockey for 251 hours straight - in Alberta's blistering cold - with the goal of raising $1,500,000 in support of the Cure Cancer Foundation. All funds raised through the 2021 World’s Longest Hockey Game will go entirely towards supporting a clinical study in lymphoma and solid tumor patients who are enrolled in Edmonton. In particular, donations will be used to cover the cost for the PCLX-001 drug, examinations, patient care, and an ongoing analysis of how well the drug is working. This is crucial in revealing the future this therapy will have in fighting cancer - in saving lives - right here in Edmonton, and around the world.

The people closer to home for me and who i will dedicate my participation in this event to are; my grandfather Stuart Wadley who lost his battle at the age of 71, Deloris Demone who is the mother of a lifelong best friend that lost her battle just this past year, the mother of a good friend Jeannie Moss, who is currently in the battle today, My Friend who lost his brother Taite Boomer in 2012 and Jeremy Richardson my old teammate from Grant Macewan hockey who lost his life in 2005. (Pictures are in updates on my page)

Your support will provide hope to people who would otherwise die of their cancer - despite all the best known treatments - as they will now have a better chance of a cancer-free outcome and more time with their families, friends and loved ones. What more can you ask for?

Please donate to the World’s Longest Hockey Game today to ensure patients in Alberta will be the first in the world to participate in these clinical trials through the Cross Cancer Institute!
