As I sit here getting ready this morning, I caught myself doing something without even thinking about it…

I looked down at my makeup bag and started double-checking each product to make sure it’s gluten-free.

It hit me that this used to feel overwhelming, confusing, and honestly a little exhausting — and now it’s just second nature. I don’t even think about it anymore. It’s simply part of my routine, part of taking care of myself, part of staying safe.

It’s a small moment, but it reminded me how far I’ve come. ❤️

If you’re still in the stage where everything feels stressful or you have to think about every little thing — just know it does get easier. One day you’ll catch yourself doing these things automatically too, without the stress, just with confidence.

You’re doing amazing. Keep going. 💛

The holidays can be extra stressful when you’re living with celiac disease or navigating a gluten-free lifestyle. 🎄💛

It’s not just the food — it’s all the planning, the questions, and the worry that comes with staying safe.

Some common things people stress about this time of year include:
• Cross-contamination at family gatherings
• Not knowing what ingredients were used in homemade dishes
• Feeling guilty or “difficult” for asking about food safety
• Limited gluten-free options at events
• Worrying about getting sick and missing out on holiday fun
• Having to bring your own meals just to feel safe
• The pressure of explaining (again) why gluten-free isn’t a choice
• Navigating travel, restaurants, and parties where control is limited

If you feel this way — you’re not alone. 💛

I’m here to support you, help you prepare, and make the season feel a little less overwhelming.

Easy Cheese Sauce (Gluten-Free)

Ingredients:
• 2 tbsp butter
• 2 tbsp potato starch
• 1 cup milk (add more if you want it thinner)
• 1–1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a small pot over medium heat.
2. Whisk in the potato starch until smooth — it’ll form a thick paste (a gluten-free roux).
3. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously so it stays smooth and lump-free.
4. Let it cook for 1–2 minutes until it thickens.
5. Add the shredded cheddar and stir until melted and creamy.
6. Season with salt and pepper.

That’s it — super quick, super simple, and naturally gluten-free!

Gluten-free doesn’t automatically mean healthy!

Just because it’s labeled “gluten-free” doesn’t mean it’s nutrient-rich or better for you. Many gluten-free products are:
🍪 Higher in sugar or fat for texture
🍞 Lower in fiber, iron, and B vitamins
🥣 Made with refined starches (rice, potato, tapioca)

💚 The goal? Focus on naturally gluten-free foods:
🌾 Quinoa, brown rice, buckwheat
🥦 Fruits & veggies
🥩 Lean proteins
🌰 Nuts & seeds

Gluten-free should mean nourishing, not just “safe.” 🌸

When I first went gluten-free, I thought it would be easy - just avoid bread, right?...

Listed below are some helpful tips 👇

Always read ingredient labels - gluten can hide in sauces, seasonings, and snacks.

Focus on naturally gluten-free foods like fruits, veggies, rice, and lean proteins.

Watch for cross-contamination in your kitchen and at restaurants.

Plan ahead - bring safe snacks when you're out or traveling.

Don't be afraid to ask questions about food prep or ingredients.
