When clients first come for spinal energetics, they are less likely to move due to poor mind/body connection and also feeling safe to “drop into the session”. Think of this similar to a meditation session, it takes time to feel safe and familiar before clients can go into deeper states. During the first few sessions practitioners may touch the physical body more to help bring awareness and connection to the physical body and sensations. It is important to know that one stage is not “better” than another as all have equally positive benefits on the table.

We live in a world that is suppressed emotionally and physically. It can be scary to reconnect to your body that you have been rejecting all of these years. You forget who you are without all of the layers that have been protecting you. Will I be the same person if I let go of my traumas? Isn’t that what defines me and sets me aside from everybody else? Is any of that true? You’re the one that’s responsible for your own healing and energy modalities can help release those feelings that could be causing you to feel stuck.

There can be a sense of fear for clients if they are doing it the correct way. There is no right way. It’s exactly how it should be. How you move through things mentally and physically today maybe different each day.

Can children receive spinal energetics?

The answer is YES! We forget that children experience big emotions and their nervous system can get dysregulated just like adults.

Some things that might make children’s nervous system dysregulated:

-parents themselves are dysregulated
-big changes for example school, moving, divorce, their peers, influences that surround them on a day to day basis
-screen time

It is easy for children to shut down emotionally and suppress their feelings. Adults are quick to blame and correct their behaviour making them in return turn inwards and not express their true emotion.

How can stored emotions and stress show up in their life?

-immune system challenges
-hyperactivity- unable to concentrate
-learning challenges

In this lifetime we are meant to feel happiness, joy, love and inner peace but sometimes we get lost along the way. We build an armour around our heart. The body can hold onto a lot of stress and tension without even realizing it. Our bodies may hold on to this stored tension and stress which in return can make us stuck in the same behavioural pattern or self limiting belief. Releasing stored tension is not just about releasing past negative experiences, its about coming back into our bodies and releasing those fears that maybe causing you to feel stuck.

Our bodies are where we experience most of our pain, joy, pleasure, and where we process most of what happens to us. When we experience trauma, stressors, emotional or physical pain we create these walls that keep us feeling safe. Our bodies do this to ensure safety and survival. Beneath the protective self is a self that is confident, curious, and calm. Once we start to heal and recognize the protective self is no longer needed thats when our bodies can start the healing process that they are designed to do. We start to trust the process and ourselves again thats when our inner self can fully emerge.

Spinal Energetics can be a tool in an individuals healing process by helping the nervous system shift back into a calm state and allowing the body to heal itself.

The fifth energy channel is located halfway between the heart and the throat at the base of the neck. This channel is called the throat chakra. The channel controls the ability to speak, listen and express oneself. It represents expressions, trust, and truth.

The throat chakra carries our suppressed voices. Fears of saying the wrong thing, not being taken seriously, fear of judgment and ridicule. We learn quick to suppress our voices to keep other people safe and happy. However, we are only hurting ourselves when we do not speak our truth and stand up for what we believe is to be true.

Energy can become stuck in the channel which could cause physical and emotional symptoms which are:
