Last week we spent 3 days running 8 focus groups for some of the many seniors interested in Summersides Retirement Residence.
It was a wonderful experience for our team, and based on the engagement and the Thank-You notes we received it was also a very positive experience for our guests.

Frank Giannone, president of FRAM + Slokker, who has been running focus groups for years, lead and moderated the meetings. He did a wonderful job sharing information but also encouraging our participants to provide feedback and tell us their wants and needs.

Nick Colamartini, Vice President, and the entire Mountainview Building Group hosted the eight (8!!) meetings over the 3 days in their head office, made everyone comfortable and had great tech to ensure we capture all the thoughts and ideas raised at the meetings.

We came out of these sessions with some new ideas for the next buildings to be built as part of the Summersides community, and with a great confidence that there is a very large group of people waiting for them to be built.

Summersides Retirement Residence Construction Update:

We’re excited to share the incredible progress happening on-site at Summersides Retirement Residence in Fonthill. Building excavation is complete, and work on the footings and foundation walls is well underway.

The site is shaping up beautifully, with grading completed and site services installed and ready for future extensions.

Electrical services and some rough-in plumbing have begun in the basement, another exciting step forward.

Summersides Retirement Residence offers a fresh, upscale approach to senior living in the Niagara region. Opening in 2027, it combines active lifestyle amenities with personalized care, giving residents the freedom to live each day to the fullest. With independent living suites and flexible care options, Summersides adapts to individual needs in a warm, vibrant community.

In beautiful weather, and in the presence of the community, public officials, owners and friends, as well as some fifty of our future residents, we celebrated the launch of construction.

Construction is officially underway at Summersides Retirement Residence in Fonthill! 🎉

This past Wednesday’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony marked an exciting milestone for this new upscale retirement community, set to redefine senior living in Niagara.

Thank you to all who joined us to celebrate this milestone moment. Summersides Retirement Residence is set to open in 2027.

Our plans are coming a long and we are excited to share a sneak peek at the vision for the interior design of our residence.
These are computer renderings, for now, and final spaces will probably not be exactly the same, but close enough. Let us know what you think.

We really can't wait to be able to share some information about our project! As the team is finalizing plans and preparing for start of construction, we are working on our first event, which we will tell you about soon.
In the mean time, here is a sneak peek at the full proposed project, which will include a retirement residence and two apartment buildings.
