We understand how important it is to be able to reach us easily.

We’ve heard from a few people that they’ve had trouble getting through via phone. If this happens to you, please email admin@stillwatertherapy.ca, or send us a text to (780) 713-8197. We will connect with you as soon as possible.

As a reminder, our office is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Shelf-Help Pick of the Month!

This month’s recommendation, shared by Sara, is Catching Thoughts, a beautifully illustrated book that gently teaches kids (and adults!) how to notice unhelpful thoughts and shift toward ones that feel calmer and more helpful.

It’s a wonderful tool for starting conversations about mindfulness, emotions, and mental wellbeing at home or in session.

Have a look at our copy the next time you're in the office. Let us know what you think.

Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day 💛

A reminder that talking matters, whether it’s with a therapist, a trusted friend, a family member, or even with yourself.

You don’t have to have the “right words” or a clear plan. Showing up and speaking honestly is enough.

If today feels heavy, know you’re not alone, and support is always worth reaching for.

January Slump...

Two weeks into the new year is often when the motivation fades and the emotions show up. The excitement of “fresh starts” starts to wear off, and what’s left is what we’ve actually been carrying; stress, grief, burnout, anxiety, relationship strain, or simply exhaustion.

If you’ve found yourself feeling flat, overwhelmed, or discouraged already, it doesn’t mean you’re doing the new year wrong. It means the nervous system is settling back into reality, and that’s when the truth of how we’re really doing tends to surface.

You don’t need to be more disciplined, positive, or motivated, you may just need support.

Therapy can be a place to slow down, name what’s coming up, and begin to feel less alone in it. Wherever you are right now is a valid place to start!

Shelf-Help Book Pick!!

This week’s recommendation comes from Sara! She’s chosen Wintering, a thoughtful and comforting read about rest, resilience, and honouring life’s quieter seasons. A perfect pick for anyone navigating change or needing a gentle reset.

If you read Wintering, let us know your thoughts, we’d love to hear your reflections.

As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to wish you warmth, rest, and gentleness during the holiday season. 🤍 Whether this time of year feels joyful, heavy, or somewhere in between, we honour whatever you may be carrying.

**Please note, our administrative office will be closed from December 24th through January 5th to support rest and renewal. During this time, some therapists may continue meeting with clients as scheduled. Billing to insurance companies will continue as usual; however, all administrative inquiries will be responded to when our office reopens on January 5th.

Thank you for trusting us with your care. We look forward to continuing to support you in the new year and wish you a peaceful holiday season.

Happy Holidays from the Stillwater Team.

Winter can be hard on our mental health.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affects many people as daylight decreases, often leading to feelings of sadness, fatigue, low motivation, or withdrawal. These symptoms are a response to real changes in light, routine, and biology.

The good news? Support makes a difference.
Therapy can help you develop tools to manage symptoms, improve mood, and regain a sense of balance during seasonal transitions.

If the colder months feel heavier than they should, our therapy team is here to support you. You don’t have to go through this season alone.
