I get this question a lot:

“Should I get an X-ray so we can see what’s going on?”

The truth is — most muscle, joint, and nerve pain does not show up clearly on an X-ray.

X-rays are excellent for ruling out serious concerns like fractures, infections, tumors or significant structural pathology.

They’re also useful if someone isn’t responding to care the way we’d expect.

But in many cases, X-rays show normal age-related changes that:
• are common
• don’t directly correlate with symptoms
• don’t change the treatment plan

Your history and physical exam tell us far more about what’s driving your pain than an image alone.

At Fuel, imaging is used when clinically necessary, following evidence based guidelines.

One of the most common questions I hear in clinic is: should I use ice or heat?

❄️ Ice is often helpful early on for acute, swollen, or reactive pain.
🔥 Heat tends to work better for chronic stiffness and muscle tightness.

Both can reduce pain temporarily, but using the wrong one can sometimes make symptoms worse later.

Want to dive a little deeper into when to use heat vs ice?
I break it all down in my full blog post here:

I love hearing patients reactions when they first enter the clinic... it's usually something along the lines of “Wow… I wasn’t expecting this.”

Yes—it’s a residential home on the outside, but inside it’s a calm, professional clinic space designed to help you feel at ease from the moment you arrive.

I’m so grateful for this space and all the incredible stories of healing that have taken place here 🖤.
